vac

Hey IQfy, should I get the new dyson gen5detect? It's on sale, and I need a nice, easy to handle vacuum for my hard floor apartment.

I've heard good things about older dyson, not sure if it still holds up.
But I've got (wired, but still) upright vacuum from Shark couple of years ago and very happy with it. Makes cleaning if not enjoyable, but much less of a hassle.

Read eevblog forum thread on their batteries (they're shit). Also you need to remove a screw to swap them, with Bosch unlimited it's a simple swap. If you happen to use Bosch cordless tools, get Bosch unlimited.

rags on a fricking stick. You can fold the rag over like 25 times before switching to another rag, or whatever microfiber thing. Just wash the rags like normal. There is no need to make life harder by buying a fricking gadget.

If you’re serious about a vacuum get a unit with a bag and power head. Those are cleaner and simply better.

Standing ones like that are shit, can't use them for tighter spaces like the ones with a long hose and detachable head

just buy one with a bag like a normal person
not only will you have to empty bagless every time you vacuum, which will spread dust everywhere, you will also have to change filters frequently. not to mention that you also wanted to buy CORDLESS which already has poor suction power, which combined with shitting up the filter means it will suck even worse than your poor vacuum cleaner choices

          Cope
I have a 150€ xiaomi and I just pull out the dust over a bin and the debris are minimal. Also I got it pre-covid and I'm still on my 2nd filter. Just blow them with a compressor every so often and you're good

Anything from Dyson or anything that remotely resembles Dyson belongs in the trash.
Buy a regular Miele Complete C3, these are god tier.

Dyson is overrated especially for hard floor you don't need much. My Black&Decker does just fine, when it loses suction I just wash the filter and put in my dry spare filter.

I saw a promo on slickdeals for a shark vacuum that they fricked up and instead of removing $89 from the price, it made the final price $89.
Unfortunately they realized and canceled all the orders that used that promo code.
