not really but it taught 5-year-old me quite a bit of computer skills just because of how often it'd break.
    >u probably had a shit computer kys
it had an athlon 64 x2 and 2GB of RAM which wasnt terrible for vista i think. regardless it fricking crashed like twice a day at the minimum and all i did on the damn thing was play fantage

In retrospect, yes. The time Microsoft took to attempt to increase security and the introduction of UAC was a significant advancement and benefit. The main reason everyone hates Vista is because they failed to properly increase the minimum system requirements. A lot of new computers that had Vista installed were severely underpowered. In reality though, Windows 7 was a major refinement and improvement over Vista.

so you are this poor and detached?

It was FRICKING KINO. There hasn’t been a SINGLE operating system with as much sovl or functionality as Windows Vista. My Vista laptop from 2007 is faster than any machine with 10 or 11 installed.

It was noticeably worse than Windows XP, which itself was noticeably worse than Windows 2000. Though, the UI was very pretty and cozy and it worked much better than anything released afterwards.

If you could make a cracked version of 2000 that runs modern plug-ins/software and had the Vista UI (optional) it would be the greatest piece of software ever developed.

You literally have autism if you think one OS was better or worse than the others. Literally all windows versions were the same from 98+ for basic functionality.

visually its my fav windows, at launch it was a mess because MS didnt really work to get the driver support much thought but by the end of it's life style it was basically windows 7 so if you liked 7 theres no reason to hate on vista

Vista got a bad rep because 90% of computers at the time weren't fast enough to run it decently
If you had a system with enough RAM and a 7200rpm drive then it was pretty good
    Otherwise it fricking sucked

It looked cool at the time but was pretty shit compared to XP SP3. And over time they focused on making the NT6 family worse for users, not better. And NT"10" is just more of the same.

Thankfully Microsoft still hasn't realized that the demise of Windows will weaken the golden goose Azure. So they're gladly milking it to death. And we grow closer to a unix only world - even if it is increasingly locked down unices.
