What are some?

I'm a college student and I have a really hard time getting to work and studying consistently. I probably have ADHD but I don't want to waste my hard-earned money on a psychiatrist for a useless diagnosis. I know people who just take modafinil/ritalin when they need it but I'd rather avoid drugs/medications.

One thing I've noticed is that when people expect me to do something, or when my work is to be directly graded and compared with others, I get very motivated and productive. But alas there's no such competition/camaraderie in college and I'm all by myself. So what usually happens is that I do nothing for 3 months then try to cram an entire semester's worth of classes in seven little days before the exams.

Tl;dr: college student, can't get to work, can't study consistently, what do

    Awareness.
Assuming you can create the perfect routine, you sit down to study or work, and then you are hit with emotions, "Ugh this doesn't interest me, this is boring, this scares me, I don't wanna do this" awareness allows you to look at your own emotional reactions and talk to them, "This will get interesting soon, and besides I need to do this, it will only take a little time, this is boring but I need to do this, I want to do this, this is not my voice, I choose to do this", It's very soothing, it works wonderfully for me to get me to do stuff, I basically talk myself into it, I ensure my own safety and well-being, and make sure I feel comfortable enough

It's a process, slowly you need to start understanding what your response is, and where it comes from, this can be understood by keeping a record of your thoughts, this is called cognitive behavioral therapy, you're supposed to point out immediate thoughts, figure out if you're reasoning emotionally or do you have a fear reaction.

Once you set a routine, you won't have to push through all the time, this is not visible to you yet, so you'll give up, but it's okay to give up too, talk to yourself about why you're giving up, understand it, and try to work through it in a routinely timed manner, so you can build better habits.

    You have to grow up.
Life is difficult. Sitting your ass down and studying is difficult.
No drugs, no magic formula, no quirky trick will get you to suddenly be super productive, you just have to get good at life by struggling harder than others and enduring more suffering of responsibility and hard work.

Stop speaking moronic, if you cant point out an error in the professors lecture's by the end of the year then you should probably kys.

Every student is your enemy, the professor, the authors of the books you use....ENEMY.

Go forth and conquer or die the feckless homosexual you are.
(I would suggest picking a fist fight somewhere, bar etc, to waken up.)

jerk off in the morning, take meth in the evening, stay up until next days evening playing with dose you smoke, sleep, fap again.

Also there are some additions you can have to meth, so it won't burn you. (The thing dopamine is created from in metabolism, and other beneficial nutrition.)

You have to develop discipline. Read that slowly. The thing about discipline, is that once you realize that you can accomplish almost anything by doing it in little steps every day, it becomes addictive and you want more. Realize that life is hard, even when you are doing what brings you happiness.

I did it the exact opposite way.

Fast yet comprehensive, listen to music, tv even, or a lecture if Im feeling cute. If there is a book at hand too its moronic (Bibliomamcy, single "random" word generator.)

...but I have to do that 24/7 with lots of repeats since Im partially paying attention to all of them but usually primarying one, so...more of a lifestyle thing.

Triple the time cost...but it counts as leisure, take 3-6 min breaks playing a phone game to 'recalibrate' perspective.

Go hard or die, or induce insanity and be unable to return to normalcy...

Actual helpful advice from someone with recent symptoms of ADHD.
I too cant focus the entire year and cram before the exams but end up getting one of the highest grades in class.
Instead of leaving all your syllabus for the night before, i always have a brief about the topics and have read the lessons at least twice. PAY ATTENTION IN YOUR CLASSES.
Break down tasks into smaller and more realistic goals and make some to do lists. The reason you worked harder in high school was due to the urge to please people and knowing exactly what to do. There are a lot of tips for ADHD online as well.
Getting familiar with it is the first steps you can take to overcoming it.

I am Homonovus, your superior is every dimensional of reality.

Why are you lying to a lie detector?...all you did was express your projected feelings, we both know the reasoning is purely emotion and most likely rooted in envy or malice of some sort, because you have 'primitive genes'.

moron. Get diagnosed and get meds. ADHD is not treatable not medicinally but the meds are the most effective and safe of all disorders.

There are literally DOZENS of morons like you EVERY FRICKING WEEK with the exact same thread
    > hurr I have ADHD
    > b-but I d-don't want to take meds because moronic trad-fetishistic incels on the internet told me ADHD is le bad parents and le phones (proven to be BS decades ago)

Do shit that works or suffer, simple as.
