What are your thoughts on COSMIC? Will it supersede GNOME?

What are your thoughts on COSMIC? Will it supersede GNOME?
Personally I'm interested to see native Rust code instead of JS that plagues both GNOME and KDE.

I have nothing against poorgays, but what bothers me is poorgays who defend being a poprgay, you do nothing with your life to make it better, you post hourly cope nonstop. If my life were that sad, I think I'd do something to improve it.

COMSIC looks good so far. Not smart to judge it yet and compare to fully established DEs that have been around for decades. I think the biggest deal is the fact that COSMIC starts fresh without the heavy baggage of decades of legacy code. It still need time though I'm pretty impressed at how fast the development is going now.

I sure am jealous of people who fall for the marketing and believe they need more than they actually do. I'd give everything to feel unhappy and constantly unsatisfied because there's always something better I can't afford.

As usual rustoids put the cart before the horse.
Finish the fricking thing and make it good. We don't care that it's written in Rust.

    And KDE, hopefully.

Can it support 8k and fractional scaling?
    Does it support hdr?

My biggest issue with Linux right now is that there's no real 8k support. Kde plasma sort of works. But eventually crashes. Anything gtk related doesn't go past 6k resolutions.

COSMIC is meant for system76 laptops and none of them ship 8k.

      >there's no real 8k support
Then fix it yourself. Don't expect support to magically materialize unless devs get their hands on their own 8K hardware.

-There's no gpu acceleration natively in web browsers
-The font's look blurry as shit
-Can't switch between front audio jack and rear audio jack without unplugging front audio jack.
      -Linux is for servers.

It lacks design and is ugly/unconherent like kde, but with oversized gtk buttons which waste a lot of space. Fr, it takes the worst from two worlds

If kde looks like it was designed by a kid using winforms, cosmic looks like it was designed by kid using some android framework, it literally looks like cheap chinese tablet from 2015 with custom launcher theme

I don't get who needs this, if I want ugly but customizable de, I already have kde

It isn't out but it's in a state that shows it's direction and the general outline of it's style you fricking moron. It's perfectly okay to have thoughts on an unfinished product. People like you are the type of morons that will be screaming that it's shit when it comes out and it won't even go through your peanut brain that the development was open and by giving valid criticism/feedback you could've influenced the finished product. Do you taste you food while cooking it to make corrections or do you take the first bite when it's already finished on your plate?
