What does?

What does IQfy think about pulsar editor? It's a community fork of atom after it was killed by microshit.

I think it's pretty comfy but seems like nobody is using it except me.

No thanks, I don't wanna use software made by microshit. That's exactly the reason why they killed atom in the first place and I don't want them to succeed.

      it's even slower than atom

microsoft bought github and since atom was created by the github team they just killed atom so everyone would switch to vscode

It takes half a second to open just like every other editor

I'm still using atom since it still works perfectly fine.
And by "still using" I mean very very occasionally since atom (like pulsar) is a shitty editor.
Most of the time I just use Kate, and for programming I use pycharm. There's only this one thing I use atom for since there's a plug-in exclusively for it and I can't be bothered porting it to a better editor and I have been using it less and less.
I understand the sentiment behind pulsar, but honestly I think you people should just let it go and work on better editors instead.

What does kate do that pulsar doesn't? I don't feel like installing half a DE just to get a text editor.

just works, tf u talking bout installing half of DE, literally you can get snap/flatpak/appimage

Kate requires 52 dependencies to be installed. You talk about bloat and then recommend me that? And no I won't touch snapslop and the likes.

honest opinion, it just feels, looks and runs like bloatware

It's fine, and Brackets was good too, but I got tired of Electron shit due to unexpected bugs and periodic plugin breakage. If I'm under Linux, I generally stick to Geany or Enki, and if I'm on Windows, I generally stick with NP++. On OS X I loved TextWrangler and BBEdit, but I haven't owned a Mac since 10.8 was released. For quick edits in a terminal no matter what I'm running, I use Nano with syntax highlighting on.
