unfortunately, it is not the Catholic church. and when I use the terms above, I mean it in its specific and restricted term of the word, not things like "see. you are wrong but you will be welcomed here"
or "we know your place in society, but you are very important and will certainly be elevated in many ways"

probably ancient pagan religions. If a gay man went to a pagan temple, he would be expelled at the very least. But nowadays, they would say he's wrong but that's it. he can be celibate and that's it, happy story

      Yep.
He died in Algeria for 6 years (and I got mini skin cancer) and one time everyone was surrounded by a party and was cursing and hitting him. I thought it was a thief or a guy who messed with some wife. but later I discovered that he was a carnal satanic. I don't know what happened afterwards because it's not my problem

I'm a Christian but sometimes I think I'm too "extremist" for what the church teaches. Forgive me Jesus.
I don't even say what I think should be done with groups X or Y

Islam only appears to be extremely homophobic, but it has a long history of homosexualry.

I already watched this video some time ago. besides him not getting straight to the point and taking a long time to say things and his channel having a clear bias, the examples he cited are actually remembered by Muslim scholars. not some kind of "rooted/closeted cultural norm". We actually use this as an example of what should not be done. Again, our aim is not like yours. you accept gays and are against any type of decriminalization,we not

That video is full slander. Mudslims are against the Globohomo, they're not pedohomosexual basha bazi lovers.

Yes. He married a girl, as happened throughout most of history and in Europe itself.
I'm not making a moral judgment here
What if I post those gay Greek vases (which exist more than in Islam) to prove the history of homosexuality in Greece? Would you be honest if you knew this was false?

a priest I follow once said that a gay person could be a saint or something.
good? Has this already happened? and if it existed, would I go to hell for despising it?

It probably happened since a lot of Christian clergy is gay, and there's no reason it shouldn't be possible since "the state of being gay" isn't banned in Christianity. After celibacy is declared, there is no difference between gays and straights.

It's shit like this that I think /misc/ could be right sometimes.
Christianity is lame, atheism is moronic, Islam is historically moronic

This is what an average Catholic believes
"I think while his basic attitude is dismissive of gays he generally recognizes the importance of tolerance, for which I do respect him. This could be because of practical concerns or due to fundamental scriptural lessons; there is a lot in Christian teachings that say there should be tolerance and even acceptance of practices that aren't necessarily condoned."

No religion explicitly codifies homophobia because "homosexuality" as a concept did not exist and was not recognised by any culture prior to the 18th century. Mormonism has a chance but I suspect they are too cucked.

I think I was very clear in what I meant. Do I really need to explain this??

        Anonymous

No, you're not getting anything better than Christianity for the reasons I stated. It was generally impossible for homophobic attitudes to emerge in historical cultures, due to them not being familiar with the concept, thus no established religion can really reflect them.

I'll ask again, do I need to explain or did you understand what I said?
          >It was generally impossible
no. it was the norm, his entire argument comes down to terminology, the concept of not being tolerant and even killing them, this is what we would call homophobia.
          >not being familiar with the concept
They were much more familiar with the context than we are today. in ancient cultures it was 0 tolerance, many as death. So, you are wrong and I will not discuss terminologies

          >better than Christianity for the reasons I stated.
You didn't mention anything at all.
Are you sure? If a gay man appears in a Catholic church, what happens to him? And what would the same happen in Islam? What the OP says is more in Islam tha Christianity, and they are not my words.
we don't have that in islam:
          >A considerable number of men and women have deeply rooted homosexual tendencies. This propensity, objectively disordered, constitutes, for most of them, an ordeal. They must be welcomed with respect, compassion and delicacy. Any sign of unfair discrimination will be avoided in relation to them. These people are called to carry out God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to combine the difficulties they may encounter due to their condition with the sacrifice of the Lord's cross.
basically he/she would be killed and that's the end of the story, just like human history did and there was the same concept of accusing them of the same word with the same meaning that we have today.

no. This doesn't happen anymore, not even in Islam
Islamic groups are increasingly selling the image of being tolerant

            Anonymous

yes, but it's more complicated. Look, as much as this may seem like a shitty excuse, this is not part of Islamic teaching. We are not "tolerant" of evil, however difficult and extreme such teachings may be for you Westerners to understand. There is a saying that says we should nip it in the bud.
So, these moronic groups (usually large and Internet) do nothing more than sell a fresh, Westernized type of Islam. see that when they are asked about the issue of women being very oppressed, they respond with excuses and try to say that it is not quite like that. when in fact we would say yes and that she should shut up.
Well, about homosexuals, outside of the cities, what this guy wrote still happens a lot here.
in places with lower density the population takes care of gays. I saw this myself when I was a child

I don't remember much, but apparently a girl was discovered kissing other older girls, and I remember one day her mother and other people were pulling her hair and hitting this girl with a bow in front of her house.
That's all I remember, I don't remember seeing her again.
What I want to say is that contrary to this beautiful and pink Islam that Westerners sell, we still do not tolerate the worship of Shaitan, either they are beaten and banned or they meet Shaitan faster than waiting to die.
and incredibly, I noticed that women seem more homophobic here.
