XP is unusable in modren time, very lacking when it come to useful modren features

Stockholm syndrome, it was very buggy at release, took M$ years to fix it and people only loved it because windows 8 app drawer pissed off windows users

Personally i use windows 11 it's nice enough, linux distros are very lacking and offers nothing valuable to me

Maybe I'm just taking bait, but what exactly does Windows 11 have that Windows 10 IoT LTSC doesn't have? If you're talking about estrogen-core scheduling, buy better hardware.

          >but what exactly does Windows 11 have that Windows 10 IoT LTSC doesn't have?
Other than better ui ? Nothing, Windows 10 is good enough
I just like Windows 11, I use the pro version, you can wait for Windows 11 ltsc but it will take a few more years

thats even worse the only redeeming factor about 11 right now is that you can revert it to 10's shell

7 is mangled mess partway through the process of destruction. 7 is only good in comparison to the abominations that came later.

homie you can daily drive it without any issues whatsoever, there's nothing "mangled" about it just because some bluepilled cringe troony devs decided to artifically limit support for it

The extended kernels will only get better with time too, 7Chads will grow even stronger going into the 2030s

probably because you learned to use a computer with windows xp, it had tons of users and tons of freeware, and largely stayed the hell out of your way. basically, windows xp was windows that mimicked the experience of GNU/linux. hope that answers your (second) question.

I remember 7 fondly but only because I used it as a kid with no standards
Tbh 10 is fine, 11 is fine, 7 was also probably fine when it was new. Sure, you might have to tweak it a bit, but it's more than enough for the average joe

by today's standards, it's kind of sht under the hood, but obviously it hasn't received any updates.

The UI part, however, truly is a masterpiece that hasn't been matched in that it really has averything you need and nothing more.

In today's operating systems, I suppose the mac os is the one that comes the closest.

With "removing clutter" windows 8,10 and 11 have made all the administrative tasks way more complicated then they have to be, to where any more advanced users prefer powershell over looking up the settings in UI.. which is ironic.

I liked 2000 so much better, all the functionality of XP without the visual bloat. That playskool interface always sucked shit. I get that everyone wanted to be winamp back then but the skin they made for explorer was awful.

Windows 2000 is best windows. People only think XP is best because they never experienced true perfection. Also, XP is just a slightly fricked up version of win2k.

Search has got incrementally worse each version. XP search works better than it does on modern windows. Win2k search works the best, it finds everything.

That is not XP, that is windows 2003. Just Microsoft called it XP by switching a few bitmaps, does not make it so. I could call a dog a cat, but reality does not care about my delusions.

As scarce world is approaching under the restraint of resources, Scale and finally concern for environment.
Expectations of computing will be tempered by these realities.

OLD computers must be refurbed and lifted from landfills.
XP must be readopted and repointed so to speak.
