Because USB sticks use the worst kind of nand possible. Build yourself an external SSD encllosure for bigger than 120gb sizes. USB and SD cards should only be for 120gb and lower sizes.

          Anonymous

Yeah because even brand stuff USB's use chinesium nand. In terms of nand tier it's:

          Cheap USB sticks/SD cards
          Expensive USB sticks/SD cards
          External SSD's
          Cheap internal SSD's
          Expensive internal SSD's
          Enterprise SSD's

it's true, nand chips come off the line at varying quality, sorted into 'bins'
the most garbage of them end up in things like flash drives, chink ssd's and chink phones/tablets

    Betacraft and Minetest on it.

Maybe an XBOX emulator with Spongebob BFBB on it.

ISOs of my favorite LInux Distros.

    Rufus.

pepes, wojaks, and memes for sure

    Books about C and GNU/Linux

the Bible in audio and book form

Video game soundtracks (I don't really play video games all that much but I like the music.)

    Spongebob YoutubePoops downloaded from youtube.

I've had loads of these at lower capacity and they always break. Why would I spend so much money on a bigger one when it's just going to stop working? Thumbdrives are a good concept but suck in reality.

    >Kingston
You can use it to copy half the storage advertised, see it get bricked, ask for a replacement having to send it with all your personal documents to Kingston, wait for a month, use the replacement when you get it, see it getting bricked too, and decide you won't buy that shit brand again.

You can do everything anons recommend ITT inside of the Arch installations filesystem. I choose to keep mine encrypted so I can only access it by booting, but you can keep it unencrypted and use it both as a storage device and as a bootable.

Fixed this by not buying a 'usb flashdrive' but an adapter for an nvme drive. Now I can sustain 500MiB/s worst-case (trim disabled encrypted random read/write). It has way better life and price than any traditional USB drive I've seen.
