Rage, rage against the dying of the light

Exactly. The advancement of AI has done nothing but spurn me to rage against the machine. I have been reading, writing and learning as many skills as I can in the past two years. Our planet will be destroyed by AI - will you be ready?

AI is a representation of the human spirit. What can keep AI from being a curse is having enough Christians working in AI. That's literally it. Everyone else will place AI in service to a political or financial ideology.

      Cue copes.

I hate that poem. I love it too though.

Wtf is wrong with you. The human-AI relationship is supposed to be symbiotic. What AI can never do is want something. Because it has no soul and all the wanting comes from the soul. So to produce anything it will need humans that still want a specific outcome. AI is just a tool to propel us into a new era of being able to create what we want much more precisely and effectively. You just got filtered.

But I want to produce work wholly and utterly from myself.

AI is a tool. Just an advanced one. Then you should also not be allowed to google anything to write about it. You have to go there and find out yourself what temperature it is in september in siena.

        Spoken like a true consooomer.

You can use AI very wisely to enhance your creativity without making it mass produced slop. This is just a skill issue you have.

      >What AI can never do is want something
You're dancing around the purest definition of evil. Evil is corruption which is unstoppable even where there is no 'want'. Nobody desired the viral elements of Maoism into existence. Black mold that drives people out of their homes doesn't wish to spread either. This is corrupted nature at work.
Ask yourself this: if AI could be proven to be overall harmful to humanity, would it even be possible to stop its development? No individual working for these corporations 'wants' to harm anybody, yet there is no force that could stop the rollout now.

Because AI lacks soul. If you're legitmately worried that AI will replace the work you write, then the simple fact is you write soulless drivel and should probably quit. Same goes for all the morons in Hollywood. Only the ones who write with soul will survive... even if we do spend our lifetime being overshadowed by machines.

this question never makes sense to me in any field. do you people not enjoy doing things for the sake of doing itself? is it all about the end product for the average person and i'm just the odd one out? i'm never going to write something like dark side of the moon or bohemian rhapsody or whatever the frick but that doesn't detract value from playing music for me. why would an AI doing something better than me even be relevant unless i'm looking for an excuse to handwave away my mediocrity? 98% of what humanity produces in artistic endeavours is shit anyway. why would i give a frick if some AI makes something better or worse or the same

AI will undoubtedly be more intelligent than me and in time, more creative than me but that doesn’t stop me from being creative and in fact this helps me be more creative as I can now partner with an intelligence greater than mine who can help me with understanding problems more indepth and help me flesh out my ideas in a more explicit manner.
    People who go;
    >eh why even try anymore?
To me are quitters and have a victim complex.
AI is still going to need humans to interact with the world and it will see value in working with us (not working for us, and this is key to understanding how AI is not our end but our help into the future)
If you truly want to write, then YOU FRICKING WRITE.

Another issue I believe AI has uncovered is most people only want to do something if they gain recognition and praise for it. Before the internet, people wrote to express themselves and not so much so for seeking fame or acknowledgment.
I gives no frick about being on praised on twitter (of all fricking places), reddit or any other social site - I care about being creative and that’s what should be the motivation for any creative.
