I have five, I don't really need that many but it was neat so I did it. I'd say the minimum I'd want is three. I could make do with two if I had to. One is cramped and limiting.

It is much like a g-spot; different for everyone.
I am happy with a 1440x1080 single display right now, but I have also enjoyed and found comfy 3 monitors.
It really depends on what you are doing and how you are doing it.

one good quality monitor. multiple monitors are a headache unless you MUST have multiple screens' worth of content visible at once (you probably don't)

I've tried 2 but never liked it. always just do one. programming, art, 3d modelling all day on just 1. only thing that is slightly annoying with 1 is for making videos, would be nice to have an extra to pull stuff in from off screen or put notes etc there

Laptops over 14" should be banned by law.
God, I wish starlite 12.5" came back in stock.

    2 or 3.
    >1 for work/play
    >1 for reference material
    >1 for remote management or process monitoring
Anything else benefits more from workspaces or a decent tiling layout on a larger display.

Im using 27" 1440p one and while its suitable for gaming and videos its better to have a 2nd one as well for when you have some full screen thing going on.
a 24" 1440p display as the 2nd monitor would be nice, less issues with windows scaling, but they dont make those

Depends on what you do. When I was mainly doing gaming, programming and some light 3d modelling I had three monitors. I'm up to five now.

i used to use 2 monitors on 1 computer, but now i use 2 computers with 1 monitor on each with synergy sharing the keyboard/mouse, its a wasteful use of resource but frick the planet i like it.
