      Exactly as my theory

My pet theory is that it is a response to low testosterone and high stress. If only I could run experiments to test it. Do note that in my model all homosexuals are bottoms, tops are really straight, and all straight men are tops.

      That's basically it.
I remember this friend I knew in first year high school.
Whenever I pointed out a hot girl he just pretended to be interested. Yet he would be weirdly preoccupied with this "cool guy" at his football club.
This football guy never said anything funny, wasn't good at football, was boring to talk to etc. But my friend loved talking to him or about him for no logical reason.

Years later turns out this friend was gay.

Doubtful but some type of immune reaction could exacerbate it in people, certainly.

It’s almost certainly an in-utero defect, and as far as I know the research says it’s moderated by birth order (younger sons more likely).

I am fairly sure that the differences in orientation (top/bottom as you say) are caused by differences in androgenic/estrogenic phenotypical bias.

One day we will know for sure just from an fMRI of the brain, and probably soon.

If it was heritable it would have been selected against. Please don’t waste my time with nonsense, if you want to spread propaganda just go to /misc/. I am discussing the science of it.

            Random mutations exist idiot anon.
That's why you always have a small proportion of the population being born with down syndrome.
That's why some people are born with no arms.
What's why some people are born with autism.

thats not true, it could be entangled with another geneset and thus people more likely to be homosexual are more likely to have other desirable traits.
furthermore it could dimorphic and survive by women reproducing because women being homos is less damaging to them than men being homos.
It is probably a complicated complex that has multi factoral causes with genetic synergy and a maternal component at work.
its understudied because homos are mentally ill and will not tolerate (while they have their power) any study of them.
fear and insecurity drive this feeling

False. Demonstrations of same-sex sexuality are not correlated with significantly lower reproductive success in animal species.

I am doubtful that it is caused by biological factors alone, given how common it is for people to "discover" they "are" homosexual later in life, the existence of prison gays, and of course the fact that straight guys seem to really like traps. Furthermore, how could you differentiate between the younger brother phenomenom being caused by in utero biological changes, and it being caused by social factors? For example, it would not surprise me if having older brothers would prime someone into thinking they're naturally more submissive.

        Homosexuality is a genetic defect.

        >My pet theory is that it is a response to low testosterone and high stress.
        Complete and utter bullshit lol.
Homosexuality is more common children born to older parents. It's more common in inbred communities. It occurs more often with other mental disabilities like autism.
        It's a genetic defect...

If it was just a single base mutation then I am fairly certain it would have been detected already. Now, it could be highly polygenic, but even then I find it hard to believe that it would have avoided detection.

          >"discover" they "are" homosexual later in life
Most of Those people were simply closeted due to social and religious reasons.
          >the fact that straight guys seem to like traps
Because sans their genitalia, those traps look female.
          >how could you differentiate between the younger brother phenomenom being caused by in utero biological changes
The fraternal birth order effect is not present in adopted children orstep brothers

Being gay is determined while the child is still in the uterus, the evidence is pretty strong on this. And yeah sure, there might be some straight guys who get molested by a man as a child and then develop some trauma fetish where they also start doing shit with other men, but the fact that trauma induced fetishes exist doesn't change anything about the actual fact that being gay is something you are born with.

Kids discover their sexuality at different ages. I got boners from seeing naked girls when I was in kindergarten, so I assume gay boy could have a similar experience from seeing other boys. Most of them will probably make the actual connection to being gay quite yet at that age, but it definitely is possible to find out you are gay when you are a kid.

God I hate being an early self-aware homosexual.

I knew I wanted to rub my face over rock hard abs when I was very young, and I repressed it out of sheer terror of being found out. I stopped saying shit like “I like boy bellies” once I realized what it really meant. I was oblivious to the implications, but not too late, thank god.

I’m still highly attracted to older, masculine men. Frick. How humiliating.

The worst part is, there’s nothing wrong with physical attraction/intimacy, it’s just cringe when it’s two men. It’s especially cringe because of the lgbt and women making gay men out to be objects to scream and cheer at.

I refuse to come out of the closet until acting straight/normal as a gay man isn’t perceived as repressed homophobia. Because it’s not.

Gay people are that way naturally. If you’re gay, you’re attracted to boys just like a straight person would be attracted to girls, starting at a young age

There must be more going on here. Not like "I'm confused so there's more going on" shit just doesn't add up.

I used to play with my ass when I was four or five years old, I have very early memories -- and I still do. I enjoy AGP gooning, wieners, and can be either sub or dom...
but I do not find men attractive. I feel the "maggot" revulsion quite strongly, always have. I hate flamboyant gays and I don't care about men's bodies, I have my own. Women are objectively superior coom objects and that's just how I feel about it, as well.

so what the actual frick is going on here? You and I are not the same, even though we're both gays.

Perhaps there are several types of homosexual.

          Anonymous

they wouldn't be types of homosexual, only a full spectrum of sexuality makes sense if you go that far. but why stop there, why not just conclude the underlying principle is something other than a series of distinct categories applied at birth. Troids and enbies are way ahead on this one, they constantly change label and rarely say one is their "true self" because it might change. Sexual essentialism has reason to exist in society, but philosophically I'm done with it.

Pretty sure science has already figured out it’s mostly to do with pregnancy circumstances. Mostly that if you are a second or third or onwards son. Each time you have less testosterone produced in utero and this affects how your brain develops. Making you more likely to be gay

I speculate this is either bad design, or evolutionarily a way to make humans who can be productive to the tribe but aren’t gonna breed so they don’t have too many mouths to fees

      There are exceptions
which would be normal except the only thing that defines sexuality is behavior, whether you do it. A straight person literally cannot enjoy gay sex without becoming part gay. That's what happens when we use a colloquial term rather than a biological one.
