The Pope is the Vicar of Christ so he's already part of the Godhead implicitly.
Mary might as well rank above the Godhead at this point

Forgot to ask Jesus about muh hyperdulia.

        >While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.” He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
        Matthew 12:46-50

        >As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”
        Luke 11:27:28

"Father" is used to refer to members of the clergy (priests, bishops, ect), so it stands to reason that the head of the church would also be called "Father"

Also, you should go to church anon

Considering Jesus explicitly told his disciples to call no man father, much less HOLY father, that's pretty damning.

The Bible calls Isaac our father. It also calls Abraham our father.

            Romans 9:10
10 Not only that, but Rebekah’s children were conceived at the same time by our father Isaac.

            Acts 7:2
2 To this he replied: “Brothers and fathers, listen to me! The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Harran.

The main reason for Mary's over-representation comes from the numerous alleged apparitions of her across the globe, each with an additional title and some kind of ritual or prayer or festival commemorating the apparition. If it was Saint Julian going ghost around the globe, you'd be seeing him with the hundred or so titles.

Anyone *can* be a saint like Mary or Joseph or theoretically be elected Pope, but few shed the fetters and vices of sin in their living years.

Fatima is so moronic, which is why the Church only "approved" it. I pray they rescind that, since the kids were religious masochists whose original apparition was a woman who looked nothing like Mary; and the miracle was basically "If you stare at the Sun for a while your vision gets weird." Plus the predictions didn't even come true. I think with all respect and honor due to the theotokos that people who take it too far are easily in the top 3 most serious threats to the Church because they direct sincere fervor into basically idolatry, and it makes us look like idiots. However, it's not like other sects don't have tons of people who commit outright blasphemy too lol. Judge churches by their best members.

Never because that would be fricking moronic. However, people like Nestorius were right to be concerned about titles like theotokos because you get moronic hispanics wearing rosaries like israeliteelry and praying to Mary as equal to Jesus since they don't get the education needed to get the nuances of Catholic teachings.

As the Catechism becomes more and more widely read I hope that more Catholics will start pointing out blatant heresy within the Church, whether liberal bullshit or fatima mary-worship bullshit.

So you're saying Fatima never happened? Why would the church approve things that didn't happen?

        Anonymous

Because members of the church are completely capable of erring on issues of discipline. People outside the church believe in a strawman of papal infallibility which is that the church can never make mistakes. I just don’t buy that it happened. Catholics disagree vehemently on all sorts of issues of discipline. For example, the rosary is a discipline, meaning there is nothing about it that is essential to being Catholic.

Since Fatima is just an “apparition” that is “approved” it basically just means the church says that it isn’t heretical to believe in. However, that also means that it is not heretical to disbelieve in, and those who believe in it are in the minority. It is not Dogma and it never will be because it’s just not that kind of issue.
