Yeah less native people are being born in the west, obviously we are importing people because line must go up

thats not even why were importing them, they are a millstone around the "line"
        just look at canada
their economy is in shambles and (not so) coincidentally their gdp started lagging behind the US just as they really started ramping up immigration

this is also always relevent whenever someone gives the muh capitalists argument
sure, part of the problem is that foreign workers are cheaper, but thats only downstream from the fact that our governments actively seek to dispossess the native born population in order to gain voters and import new classes of people dependent on their gibs
H1Bs wouldnt exist under sane governence

Sane governance can not coexist with marketing and political parties existing for longer than 10-15 years.
The system that was created to do something becomes more concerned with perpetuating itself and its budget.

No one is willing to pay someone to work at computers moron, they are willing to pay someone so other people will give them money.
cut out the middle man,. be at computers and find people who will pay you for that directly instead of sucking some IT departments wiener.

Skip out on the publicly traded industry ASAP. You'll get nothing but stupid boomers who coom over the AI hype, offloading work to pajeets under the veneer of it being 'AI.' This is the case all the way from google to Amazon to every last tiny shit ass boomer company.

GCFA, passed first try, probably about 6 months of prior IT experience and by experience i mean just read some fricking books. Working for 2-ish years now making 6 figures. Used to be in deadend manual labor job with shit community college degree, now I work partially remote, less than 7 hours a day M-F. Ocassionally receive offers from different companies but current place pays for training and can't complaon about the pay.

Cause I was young at the time and moronic, with no prospect or direction in life.

If you really want a job, go for cyber forensics. Frickton of opportunity, harder to be replaced by AI bullshit because we're still wired to believe human intuision over automation when it comes to investigations. Things you get to see and work on are pretty interesting too. We have some old hats working system engineering but they look miserable af.

            Anonymous

Man I am happy to hear that you succeeded. I am at that moronic, no prospect position right now. But I have direction. I dropped out at 19 because my parents wanted me to do premed, and they also wanted me to go into $120k in debt for a Biology degree to keep up appearances. I had a mental breakdown and went home, I work at the family business and I'm going to restart at CC at the age of 22. I realized, I can procrastinate and avoid all day long but I will get older regardless. And perhaps I have an advantage of actually giving a shit about learning now, cybersecurity is definitely something I'll keep as a plan B but I want to aim higher (imma be real wit you, it's to compensate for being "late"). People can probably tell from this that I am a asiatic, so in our culture it's frowned upon to be this late and everything. It's so over, but at least it's not completely over. If I win the ivy lottery I could have less than a 5% chance of transferring into one if I play the system right at CC. But who knows man.

Absolutely you're right about the AI shit though, cybersecurity is also resistant to outsourcing because if you're working for a military contractor (based) you'll need security clearances so no infosys pajeets. And we're not gonna trust AI in that shit for obvious reasons (need human input).

Assuming you're in the US, i'll give you an advice I wish I was given at your age. If whatever your current plan doesn't work out, look into joining the Air Force as 1B4X1. It used to be a retraining only career field (meaning, you had to have finished a 4 or 6 years contract previously) but that got lifted. I've seen kids 18 years old, signed up for 4 years. With the job experience, certs, and VeTErAn status they'll get, they are literally set for life by the age of 22. Just be sure you state you want to sign as 1B4, and if they can't offer that walk out the door. Most of these kids don't even have prior IT experience. Frick your asiatic culture, leave that shit and find something that'll fulfill yourself, not your mom. I'm not trying to recruit you nor am I guranteeing anything, but am speaking from experience. Whatever you choose though good luck.

thanks man, I wish I knew about the military route at 18. but sadly even if I did I dont think I would've realized what would've ended up happening. I'll definitely keep in mind with the military being an option but full disclaimer I did get hospitalized so I think having that in the record + diagnosis might put a red flag. I don't like talking about it but it's one of those disorders that make you eligible for disability apparently, I don't think it's right. Maybe it is, I am aware that those who have it are generally unaware and are in disbelief about it but I really think I had a hard time and just snapped and had psychiatrists that were too eager to put a label. But who knows.

Even with everything socially it is an unrelenting pressure but being born in the US and having a paid off house to inherit. my hopes are not over, I could live out my life much better in my mid to late 20s. And I won't take time for granted anymore, I learned a lot.

No homo: Thank you so much brother. I can tell you're a good dude. Hopefully I'll be in the position to pass on the baton of hope as I get older and see things more clearly.

Lmao, yes. for the 1% of you guys that are actually stationed on the "cool" weapons platforms that the airforce wants you to operate. Most of the time, your stuck in some SCIF doing boring MDT shit looking through a network logger.
