both watches in OPs image are far more aesthetic than a phone. the phone is the most unaesthetic object imaginable. in fact, it's basically impervious to style. billionaires own the same phone as joe blow. using your phone as a watch is the equivalent to wearing pyjamas outdoors.

There are times where it is inappropriate to pull out your phone whether checking the time or not. A wristwatch can be casually glanced at without anyone ever noticing. People that don't understand this are unemployed, basement dwelling zoomers.

Gold is a much more stable store of wealth. Its value is not subject to the whims of pretentious watch-heads or grouchy pawn shop owners. A pound of gold is always the same price everywhere all the time.
Land is less stable but provides more opportunities for wealth building. Even if you just end up selling it to blackrock you can turn that money around and use it to buy cheaper lots in the developing hinterlands.

But if you know how to read the left watch, you can get the "info" just as quickly as the right watch.

True but digital watches are just better for giving all that info in a clean way. The left can do that too, obviously, but that just leads to the watch face becoming too cluttered and ugly really fast.

it's not fake, it's a legit mod based on a solid automatic watch. I've had them for nearly 20 years and they seem to be in a good shape to last another century.

        >lasts a lifetime.
The nh35 will last about 10 years before it loses a minute a day, then you will pull the movement out and throw it away and replace it with a new one because that's cheaper then paying for it to be serviced.

like I give a frick about a minute here and there. I'll adjust the time once per week and that's good enough.

          >it's not fake, it's a legit mod based on a solid automatic watch
          >legit mod
Just putting a seiko movement in a case with a dial and shit doesn't make it a mod, what was modified? The movement wasn't, nobody bought a seiko watch and then changed all the components, they just bought a movement and stuck tougher some weird 50 fathoms knockoff. A mod is when you buy some watch and change the hands or dial or something.
For some reason when people sell weird knokoff watches on ebay putting mod in the title makes people feel less weird about what they are buying, no idea why. But im fricking sick of seeing these things when i go to look at seikos on ebay.

            Anonymous

it's an original Seiko watch with the dial replaced (as far as I understand). The movement, case and the stainless strap is original. The mod is purely cosmetic. I bought the watch directly from a guy who did the mod, he quoted the original price + mod extra, all very transparent, no pretense.

            >lasts a lifetime.

Watches are a wonderful field of technology and craftsmanship, and the manufacture of a single hand-made watch is perhaps one of the greatest feats of precise and delicate work known to mankind. The concept of a watch, being able to keep time reliably and precisely using nothing but cleverly machined minerals and being small and stylish enough to wear on one's wrist, is a nearly perfect synthesis between art and craft, and a philosophical symbol of man's exalted position in the universe. However, they are utterly obsolete in the digital age and I have never had any reason to wear one. I doubt I ever will.

Digital teaches precision while Analog allows one to "feel" time. That's why I like analog watch face, my G Shock has an analog dial and I place an analog widget on every page of my home screens.

      Anonymous

Time feeling with an analog is a term for I don't know precisely what time is it and I like the fake mystery and ignorance of what atomic clocks provide. That's why you homosexuals are always late, incompetent when doing some work needing to be on the clock like a simple rendez-vous, and overall unfit to modern technologies. But since you use both it's more a generic comment for the analog snobs thinking they know time by feeling approximatively.

        Anonymous

If you properly learn to read an analog clock, you dont "feel" the time. You simply look at the clock and know what time it is, you dont need to "read" it you just look at it and know what time it is. In that way, it is just as precise a digital but you dont have to process the numbers...its a completely visual process

I have an F-91 W which I wear daily, the stopwatch is very useful and the alarm reminds me to take my meds, schizo.
I got a GA-2100-1A; it's the best one from the lineup cause you can ACTUALLY KNOW WHAT TIME IT IS when you look at the watch. It's not black on black or red on red, or something similar. Excellent watch as well.
And I was gifted an MTP-1381L-7A by my gf, a nice dress watch with a brown leather strap.

I had the calculator watch, but honestly it's a crappy, nerdy watch made for man children. The strap broke in a couple of months, thankfully, and I no longer wear it.

This is absolutely moronic, as if you were carrying it in a small bag filled with keys and blades. I've had my F-91 W for years, wear it daily, and you have to squint to see any scratches.

I also had an A168WA-1W, but I gifted it to my gf, as I told her to try it on and it fits her well.

I thought about maybe getting another watch, but I don't need anything more than this. Maybe if I get really rich I'll get a rollie rollie rollie to flex, I don't know.

I've read that despite being quartz, which got to be the most simple of watches, they're still inaccurate somehow, which is weird considering quartz beats any mechanical in accuracy. Idk, I think it's actually for both of those categories. I work with disaster responders in my country, and the guys who actually go out when there's a flood or extreme cold and snowstorms, they usually wear gshocks; the women in those teams wear other smaller Casios (but not baby g cause they think that's some poser shit). What I do is mainly office work, but I still wear a g shock cause I like to larp. My colleague LARPs as well.

imagine being the kind of moron who buys an expensive mechanical watch that loses seconds every week, instead of using a quarz watch that stays subsecond accurate for months

    mechanical watches are israeliteelry
and if you wear israeliteelry as a man, you're a homosexual

I gain a minute a week, which is lost because I barely wind it and don't jack off enough to keep the automatic winder busy, which averages out to dead on balls accurate, +7s. I can't imagine having a slow watch.

watches are the manliest form of israeliteelry, it embodies challenge, competition, main traits found in men. It involves men putting their brains to the task of making something more accurate than the opposite side. The same spirit can be found in the arms race, men putting their brains to make a better ship, a better aircraft, competing with the other side who's also doing the same. You can't find that spirit in normal israeliteelry, its just a stone on a ring doing nothing.

I own an Casio F91W and A700 and I really can't believe how much I like them. I've tried wearing bulky submariner style watches before but I always found them uncomfortable. With my Casios I sometimes forget I have them on. I started with the A700, but I'm a craftsman and couldn't really wear it while working since I bonked and scratched things too much. So I got the F91W for work and the A700 for everything else. If they had a heartrate monitor and step counter they would be literally perfect.
