Do you never go the cinema? Where are we supposed to get crab legs now? Should adults start eating popcorn like children do? No, grown ass men don’t eat popcorn. Red Lobster needs to be saved

Bc it's overpriced shitty seafood pic related.

For the price of that entree I can pay a similar cost at other seafood restaurants and get good fresh seafood. In areas where there's no better alternative, the price is just too high. Even their specials are a fricking joke.

In american terms that's barely above average. Plus you need a giant soda or beer.

      Long term customers not established,
Over time the restaurant has become a shell of what it once was

Shellfish is so high effort for little pay off. Unless its already unshelled an prepared, but then its even more expensive. And it only taste good because its usually drenched in butter or cream sauce or some shit or batter fried.

This. They literally force you to pick which lobster in the tank you want to eat while the lobsters stare at you with fear in their eyes. That place should be called S&M Lobster, not Red Lobster

still baffles me that somehow lobster became a "luxury" food, when it used to be shit that was fed to prisoners and poor people. which genius israelite managed to achieve this? they're literally meaty water bugs.

The prison food myth is only from like 1 or 2 coastal cities that had a problem with an overabundance of lobster fishing, so occasionally when the seafood markets were unable to sell all of it they'd sell it for cheap to the local prison. It wasn't an everyday thing or a widespread thing at all, yet people who love to peddle myths

Because people are fricking poor. How are people surprised these companies are going bankrupt? You are going to start to see more and more of this as late stage capitalism pushes further and further on. Everything is so expensive. Everyone is struggling to get by. Some concessions have to be made so people don't simply starve (slightly increasing wages). This kills some companies who can't afford these higher wages. Other companies die because people can't afford to buy their luxuries. Only mega corporations like Amazon will be able to survive and they will lord over us. Tbh it's probably their end goal.

Is this like the new version of ads.

Instead of posting pictures of food, get influencers and twitter bots to say "X Company is looking for investors for Y Restaurant due to low sales"

Bunch of simp boomers come back flooding the restaurant for a few days since well, it's a nostalgic thing.

Lobster, crab, crawfish, clams, oysters, mussels etc all taste like shit or mediocre at best, while still making you feel nauseus and not really full afterwards. Shellsfish and mollusks really are not worth the inflated price in either taste or amont of meat.

And I'm a homecook who loves making food and trying out new stuff. I've tried different recipes because I always wanted to like shellfish, but It's never worth it. Scallops are perhaps the only thing that can be worth it as an entree or for a tapas dinner. Shrimps can be decent in certain pastas.

Why would one ever eat lobster over a delicious steak?

tends up to be overpriced, when only poors used to eat it lol.
Lotta shit has happened since then, but basically, inflation and adquisitive power. The average amerimutt can't even afford proper healthcare nor paying studen loans and that's backed up by truflation's recent studies and mate let me tell you that shit is depressing.
