The people who are in charge of such decisions are not very technical. They just care the money's right and HP is one of the very few vendors with enterprise-class support.

      they make is dogshit
      >You are wrong.
Outside of enterprise-class, yes it is.

This is the company that could not re-release the 15C calculator without fricking it up. All they had to do was take the open-source emulator, make it run on some cheap-shit ARM MCU used for the 12C, and they fricked it up so the PSE function did not work right. Let that sink in.

        >zbooks are top tier
Black person or troll. I had so many hardware/driver issues with these that I eventually started giving them elitebooks, and they usually couldnt use a dock with it because the cubes were garbage, too

Ryzen is balls man. Enjoy laptop random crashing and overheating. Intel only

        >Ryzen 9 7940HS
        >8c16t 4.0 GHz base (35-54W TDP) 5.2GHz turbo (45-70W)
        >Intel Core i9-13900HX
        >24c32t 2.2GHz base (45-55W TDP) 5.4GHz turbo (157W)
Imagine thinking that AMD is the overheating one when Intel has higher TDP at almost 2GHz lower base clocks (which is how Intel measures TDP) and ONE HUNDRED FIFTY SEVEN watt turbo usage.
Intel's only 30% faster in MT despite being 2-3 times more power hungry.
Only Windows 11 is supported due to E-cores as a bonus.

Oh and as a bonus Meteor Lake sucks - https://chipsandcheese.com/2024/01/11/previewing-meteor-lake-at-ces/
No wonder they dared not to release it for desktops, and "refreshed" 13th gen instead.

Run all your numbers you want. I'm talking about real world performance. I work with setting up user laptops everyday. Procurement sends us both Intel and AMD laptops depending on availability. Only the Ryzens give us trouble. Make of that what you will.

marketing + cheap + "good enough" support
that being said they are very jack of all trades and it very much shows in their products
as said though their printer division is a straight up scam. my parents were amazed when i replaced their scam machine with a cartridgeless inkjet and they went from buying $40 ink carts every month to a $20 bottle of black a year

HP has a ton of Enterprise level support and is willing to play ball with companies that vendor their stuff. For personal use they are barely average at best, but for office/business work thats pretty much their whole bread and butter.
    t. work at an MSP that also sells HP shit and uses the Elitedesks

HP enterprise stuff is what keeps the train rolling. HP insight as an example is heavily used in data centers. They also do hba cards sas all that that are popular and generally robust. Consumer stuff is mostly junk tho from them.

I hate HP printers so fricking much I want to go to their corporate headquarters, douse myself in gasoline, and set myself in a demonstrative fireball. If the engineers or PR people have any humanity left in their hearts, they'll live out their days in a haze of guilt and shame.

dunno about office-tier peripherals, but their datacenter shit is quite good, the only bad things is i have to speak with pajeet/pajeeta and rarely speak with white people whenever i have to escalate

Their business machines are top notch and their enterprise printer support contract is very solid. Elite support also manages to be one of the finest customer support lines I've worked with. Their consumer PC stuff is junk however and their consumer or prosumer printers make me want to commit arson.
