second class citizen for all bleeding edge software, frame generation, DLSS, upscaling, etc, 80% of AI projects dont work at all 15% work but much slower and 5% work but you get support only on some GPUs and only after a couple of months and only on the most popular projects, all GPU related development is shit since AMD support and dev tools are trash

all that for 80-90% of the price of nvidia just so you can have a few more gigs of VRAM that doesn't matter for most games and that you cant use for AI for reasons mentioned above. basically unless you only want to game and nothing else on 1080p/1440p only or find a crazy price deal for similar performance in your specific use cases, there is no point in buying amd gpus

they think just because they can beat intel in cpus means they deserve top dollar for their shit cards.

They are the value brand but they want real money. Its just beyond delusional and their market share reflects it. It almost feels like they are just there so Nvidia doesn't get sued for having a monopoly. Fricking israeli chinks all working together against the consumer is what it is.

FSR is great and stable diffusion, mining and cracking tools work fine not to mention I fly FIRST class in Linux.

It doesn't. It does beat the 4080 though

AMD's frame generation is literally better than Nvidia's. Of course, you've never used it or owned an AMD GPU in the past decade, yet still feel compelled to offer your expert advice.

Fake RT and AI cores result in an AMDip when the shaders have to emulate RT and render the game at the same time.
Excellent for having a smaller die size so it saves amd a lot of money when comparing raster to raster. Terrible when it comes to doing RT or AI at the same time as rendering a game.

How are their processors as opposed to intel processors?

better in basically every way for less price, unlike the gpus

What changed? I’m old and last I checked they were inferior. Is there any reason at all to get an intel processor nowadays(

They're not inferior. It see saws on the desktop top end, and much more competitive in laptops now.

I have AMD everything. I DGAF about AIslop, only game sometimes. Everytime I've ever checked prices AMD always wins for same specs. That said if Nvidias came up on sale and I was buying I'd switch in a heartbeat. my only loyalty is to my bank acct

If I bought a Ryzen, I'd get an AMD card and go all Red. Ryzen+Nvidia combo is grotesque to me. I don't even know why entirely. It just is.

People don't seem to understand that rasterisation should come first in gaming. RT and AI are overhyped. AMD for the win.

      >rasterisation
for modern games you're not getting 144+ fps on med/high settings without AI tools like upscaling, DLSS/FSR, frame gen and similar
and for old games... any resonably modern gpu will run them to the max anyway, so no.

amd drivers are fricking terrible on windows because their primary focus is gaming and nothing more, professional tools for productivity? they don't invest in software, and in turn that software doesn't bother to integrate with them. linux drivers are different because they are written by the community and not amd, but even then those have limits (ie 3+ years and still no hdmi 2.1 support while nvidia and intel have it).

Nvidia's entire purpose of existence are to specialize in these type of processors.
AMD has CPUs as a core business, and all of the platform development necessary for CPUs. GPUs are a sideshow, a relic of a bygone age.

    the tl;dr of it is,
Unless a God is real and performs a miracle, AMD will never be at the same league as Nvidia for GPUs, GPGPU, etc.

Good for gaming, bad for all the rest. Sadly.
I'm forced to buy Nvidia due to my job, at the current prices of Nvidia shit I'd much rather buy Radeon.
Maybe in a couple of years since AMD is finally forced to step up their shit due to rhe AI meme.
If vidya is all you want buy Radeon, ray tracing is gimmicky anyways and once you turn that off Radeon just crushes in price/performance.

I have a 4090 and it offers so much more than AMD thanks to CUDA. Why they don't simply try and license those designs I'll never know.

      >Why they don't simply try and license those designs I'll never know.
Because nVidia wanted control over it. They'd have been making the AMD 4090 with most of the profit going to nVidia instead of the AMD 7900XTX with CUDA which is what everything who isn't Jensen wants.
Fortunately thanks to nVidia being c**ts the first serious efforts in migrating all that CUDA stuff to literally anything else is well underway.
