Why should I even care about metaphysics?

Why should I even care about metaphysics? It all just seems so abstract and it's not even applicable in the real world. Contrast with real physics which has applicability or biology for instance which has real world value. Why should I waste my time with this?

It is the study of the deepest level of existence itself, and can help you understand reality in interesting and different ways that will change how you interact with it. You can gain a superhuman level of self-control and development with metaphysics.

Well that's what metaphysicians think they are doing but in practice we can obviously see a childish egotistical impulse to find the "highest possible science" that will elevate you above the normies

Press x to doubt but I just want a reason to care about it.

Ethics are just applied metaphysics; all your political, ethical and practical values require a metaphysical underpinning of which they are derivative and consequent to. Like it or not, all claims you make have implicit metaphysical presuppositions and implications.

Is justice and math applicable? Is art and beauty applicable? Those are all metaphysical concepts.

Considering anyone who tried to use Kant and Hegel to real world application caused massive calamities and chaos. I would say it’s safe to ignore them and their metaphysics.

It’s useless. Learn physics or cope with your stupidity. Metaphysics is dead, philosophy is dead, and has basically become historicism. No more fun. All we have left is people desperately trying to start up these big metaphysical projects and bring back a bit of the old, but science mogs their attempts. Unless you’re religious, it’s all bullshit.

There's something funny about saying you are the most fundamental study of things just by definition. Hello, what are you methods? Your results? What has been deduced about the fundamental nature of reality?

i'll deduce it for you. everything is a sensation. Thoughts, pain, pleasure, sight, emotion, they all come from one "sense door". there, i saved you reading 300 page of bullshit.

          >Hello, what are you methods? Your results? What has been deduced about the fundamental nature of reality?
Just because you're a philistine who's never read the great philosophers doesn't mean "nothing has been deduced". How moronic do you have to be to say that. There are thousands upon thousands of pages from great thinkers like Kant, Hegel, Leibniz, Spinoza, Husserl, Heidegger, Aristotle, etc.. But I guess you're just way smarter than all of the people who study this

    >6.4312 The solution of the riddle of life in space and time lies outside space and time. (It is not problems of natural science which have to be solved.)
    >6.44 Not HOW the world is, is the mystical, but THAT it is.
    >6.522 There are, indeed, things that cannot be put into words. They MAKE THEMSELVES MANIFEST. They are what is mystical.
    (Wittgenstein, TLP)

    >We say it is "explanation"; but it is only in "description" that we are in advance of the older stages of knowledge and science. We describe [the world] better, we explain [it] just as little as our predecessors. We have discovered a manifold succession where the naive man and investigator of older cultures saw only two things, "cause" and "effect," as it was said; we have perfected the conception of [the world's] becoming, but have not got a knowledge of what is above and behind the conception. ... The peculiarity, for example, in every chemical process seems a "miracle," the same as before, just like all locomotion; nobody has "explained" impulse. How could we ever explain! We operate only with things which do not exist, with lines, surfaces, bodies, atoms, divisible times, divisible spaces how can explanation ever be possible when we first make everything a conception, our conception! It is sufficient to regard science as the exactest humanising of things that is possible ..
    (Nietzsche, Gay Science 112).

Because is fun. I like to think that whoever studies metaphysics is pushing their limited arsenal to the limit. Becoming aware of the ways in which you can gain knowledge of the supposed world outside (and inside) of you is a real challenge.
It's useless, but it's philosophy exercised to its fullest degree, and we like that shit.
What will be the next step to further refine our metaphysical knowledge? Will we reach a limit imposed by the inability to put it into words? This doesn't seem to be a problem for science, so why should it be for philosophy?
