Using the windows branch intended for fricking digital signs seems like some SERIOUS cope.

Like you admit that windows is basically unusable at this point but you're so wedded to Microsoft's wiener that you have to settle for this compromise.

      Just embarrassing.

          LTSC isn't the server variation.

It's their embedded version for ATM's, digital signs or kiosks.

you fell for the marketing anon, the IOT and non-IOT version are the literal exact same thing, except the license (which dictates the support window)

        Are you moronic on purpose?

Because it's intended for things like digital signs does not make the OS unusable.
It's just Windows 10 unshittified. No bloat, less spyware. Even less if you spend 2 minutes to disable them.

I run both Debian and 10 LTSC. Both work just as great as each other. Of course you wouldn't know this because you are Luke Smith incarnate.

Like windows store and one click wsl installation. If I wanted to paste into the terminal all the time, then I would install linux

I never understood the "LTSC is a debloated Windows" meme. Any of the current Windows 10 and 11 isos (ltsc, iot, server, and enterprise) can be debloated and almost completely cleaned of telemetry without using powershell.

Webm is of my old Windows 11 23H2 virtual machine, debloated. I used it to make my own iso with windows + office permanently pre-activated for install on many devices. I will soon make a 24H2 version. LTSC has more bullshit and less features than my build. I can't tell if this board got dumber or if I simply hit the maximum learned knowledge from this place.

Just because you debloated it with powershell and regedit doesn't mean it isn't phoning home. You need a heurstic firewall to really debloat windows and prevent all of the other .exes from phoning home regularly. Most people don't realize Windows phones home every time you add or remove a program from the add/remove software window

            Anonymous

            >you debloated it with powershell and regedit
wrong, I use the GUI based AME wizard with my own custom playbook (modified AME 11 to remove some stuff they install)
            >You need a heurstic firewall to really debloat windows and prevent all of the other .exes from phoning home regularly.
            wrong
The times my build contacts M$ servers are for:
            - NTP for timekeeping
            - A basic connectivity check with no UIDs
            - A failed language settings sync check due to removed services
I watch my DNS history and active connections before finalizing a build, and yes the office telemetry is somewhat active in some menus, but I also have a libreoffice build.
I can't express how much has been removed, there's nothing left to gather telemetry. I disabled every single cloud based setting for office using the online office configurator, the only menus that trigger pings are like certain web templates and translation services. It's all gone.

It's just a bunch of midwits who think they're somehow epically pwning Microsoft by using a FORBIDDEN edition of Windows, along with the usual contrarianism and desire to be a special snowflake. The fact that Windows 11 LTSC is being shilled now is definitive proof that these people don't even understand why they installed Windows 10 LTSC in the first place.

some gay video games don't work because they require updates that is not avaliable on LTSC, only on win 11, and win 11 LTSC includes such updates I guess

2021 LTSC is the same binary build as Windows 10 GAC. The core OS build has not changed since build 2004, the only difference is some *.mum files that bump the version and turn features on when they are present. The update that installs the .mum files does not install on LTSC. However you can copy the files from the update installer to the right location, and without overwriting anything the LTSC build will report itself as the later version so the shitty gaymes work while still being LTSC.

Microsoft do this so they only have to maintain one build of the OS, the user version differences and the last few version numbers are literally just dipswitches.

The same can be said about installing any newbie-friendly Linux distro at that point. The difficult part is choosing the distro and then the whole process is as plug and play as Windows used to be, and they come without any spyware and bloat by default, except for Ubuntu I guess.
