That just means that others want to eat off my table and are making up lies, and that if they don't get their way they won't talk to me.
No-one here reads comprehensively. If you are among the liars, may God strike you in the heart. Not until death, but nonetheless.

      If three literary works:
      Vergil's Aeneid (dual text)
Lautreamont's Maldoror and Poesies (Poesies seems too short to have alone)
      Gogol's Dead Souls
      If three philosophy books:
Any edition of the fragments of the Presocratics (probably Kirk and Raven or McKirahan, having a single book for any of them seems too narrow to me in a situation like this)
Plato's Complete Works (if forced, Sophist alone)
Lev Shestov's All Things Are Possible

i read that in county jail in less than two weeks. you guys are going to be horribly disappointed in its ability to be read and read again. the lack of density here is incredible.
1611 kjv (if i can't have that i'll take a dictionary of my choosing but i'm unwilling to share which one)
    Anatomy of Melancholy
Ulysses (yeah, i've read it, and again, and will again. literary parallax is incredible.)

This really isn't enough. the number should be at least 7, or 10. this gives options for intertextual excitements and so on. as it stands, the dynamic possibilities to spring from one to the next are insufficient. may as well give me a pencil and three art books so i can take up sketching instead.
