How useable is it for everyday tasks? Can it do web browsing decently? Any problems?

I use it very few things:
        >listening to music
        works
        >IQfy
mostly works. kurobaex has some sort of memory leak that makes it go oom if there are multiple large (>2MB) images lose to each other
        >youtube
I use Foxpipe, which is a fork of newpipe that has a version with the preunified UI, since the normal app would go oom after that UI change. The maximum usable resolution is 480p. Everything higher lags. But the display is only 960x540, so that's not that big of an issue.
        >web browsing
I don't use it for that purpose that much. It's slow, but usable if you have some patience
        >ssh into my computer or raspberry pi
        no problem
        >whatsapp/telegram
        works

It can also run a GBA emulator without issue and a DS emulator if nothing else (not even a music player) is running at the same time.
The biggest hardware issue is no USB OTG

The biggest issues are related to damage.
The battery is fricked. It lasts maybe 2h watching youtube. I looked into getting a replacement, but the ones available are probably as old as the phone itself.
The usb port makes bad contact. I soldered some leads to the bord and now i have abarrel jack handing from my phone which works perfectly.
While I was inside I fricked the microphone, so I have to use a headset for calls.
The headphone jack made bad contact. I disassembled it and bent the pieces of metal back into shape, which fixed it. When I was doing this the second time, one of the contacts broke. headphones still work, but the microphone on headsets don't.
I shattered the screen, but that was an easy fix, that cost like 10€.
I shattered the little glass thing covering the camera. It had the aperture painted on it, so now I have no aperture and photos taken with flash are completely washed out. This one is slightly annoying.
At some point while I was disassembling it I tore off the flat flex wifi antenna. I soldered a small cable to the board, now my range is about 75%.

No microphone is sad, but I was using a dumbphone for calls anyway.

This is incredibly impressive. When will you upgrade, and what will you upgrade to? QVC sells the Moto G Power 5G 2023 for $80 with a year of service included, that'd be a cheap but substantial upgrade for you.

            Anonymous

            >Moto G Power 5G 2023
Way too big. The biggest I would use is 5". I used a Galaxy J3 (2016) for about a year. That had a 5" screen and reaching the top left corner was uncomfortable. On a 6.5" phone it must be impossible. Sadly the screen on the samsung broke and the replacements I could find online were very bad quality, so I went back to the g2m.
The phone you named also has a punchhole camera, which I dislike, and no headphone jack, which is unacceptable.
The only real advantage it seems to have is lineageos support.

            >When will you upgrade, and what will you upgrade to?
when someone decides to make a phone worth upgrading to:
            - less than 5" screen
            - headphone jack
            - no front camera moronation (punch hole, notch). ideally no front camera
            - no camera bump. I want it to lay flat on a table. As for resolution, I only need it to be able to photograph an A4sheet of paper in such a way that a reasonably sized font (>8pt) is legible)
            - lineageos support
            - under 300€

One thing to mention. I also have had an android tablet for about two years, which is what i mainly use for web browsing and watching videos. If I hadn't gotten that, I probably would have gotten a new phone.

A phone is not a fridge or a toaster. It's a device that shouldn't lag. Who knows you might have a car accident because if the lag while you were opening google maps or you might have to make a person wait to get your info because WhatsApp it's taking a minute to load.
