She wouldn't be a waifu, the book was very clear about that.

Quite the opposite.

This book was pretty disappointing tbh.
The characters were interesting, but the plot just dragged out endlessly then cut off suddenly.
But I suppose that was the point to some degree?

it cuts off because it loops back to the start when she goes back to the same job
My wife read this and said it was moronic drivel. From a western perspective, it can be taken as some kind of point about how falling in line bad and all that shit. But from a japanese perspective, you could go either way. The deadbeat using her and treating her like shit while she used him to "appear normal" or whatever. Its moronic and subversive. Even if it's social commentary, it's not good.
Skip this one and pick up a good book instead. Like >The Travelling cat Chronicles (Hiro Arikawa)
or >Before The Coffee Gets Cold (Toshikazu Kawaguchi)
>Before The Coffee Gets Cold (Toshikazu Kawaguchi)
my partner has the full set of these books are they worth reading

Yeah. During COVID the cafes shut down so her publisher let her chill in their cafeteria. She sat there all day drawing kaiju doodles.

I read it with my gf and she thought it was funny. If you don't laugh at the dead bird part right at the beginning it might not be for you. (But you should at least wait until the /misc/cel character spergs a few times).
