Yeah if you just like the act of reading and not understanding what you have read
So I guess you could read YA shit all day every day so that you feel smarter than Stacy
Preschool really fricked up a bunch of women and made them feel special for reading words printed on paper
Only two ways to read a book a day
1. read shit
2. not understand shit
Do they know how dumb they look?

not that anon but in all honesty the actual commitments of practical life deserve to be given some weight here, which is why the woman in OPs post appears doubly vapid. i mean she definitely has the aura of one living off of daddy's money. for many working class people even a book a week is a stretch.

Not that Anon, but I read Moby Dick over the course of something like 3 years. I wasn't as good about reading often, and I would pick it up and put it down based on my mood. I read other things while I did, too. I'm trying to be more focused with how I read now, though. Sometimes the tism just strikes me, though.

If it takes you less than 3 minutes to read a single page of Moby Dick, you need to go back and read the classics, including the Old Testament, because you are missing 90% of the layers. I am not joking. You're part of the problem.

i'm not those anons but you know very well how improbable it is to 'read' that much and be able to absorb even a fraction of what you're reading. of course the trade-off is that they're probably thematically light and very easy books to read. you cannot in good conscience believe that one could properly read denser texts with even marginally more sophisticated prose and thematic subtext at the rate they're claiming to. you would have to legitimately have a photographic memory and i highly doubt these women are at that level, barely anyone is. stop simping.
She's not reading YA
i am willing to bet seven hundred trillion dollars she cannot properly remember even a small fraction of what she reads in a year. at this stage what is the point of doing this and presenting this image of yourself to the internet? but you know the answer already. this is reading as fashion.
Yeah if you just like the act of reading and not understanding what you have read

These women are so obnoxious. I dated one. Thought she was special because she read Harry Potter. It's not unusual for women that believe they are "readers" to barely read anything at all.
she talks all the time about how ''problematic'' classic authors
she also talks about LGBTQ representation and shit all the time
she is an extreme progressive who believes in all globohomosexual ideas while being extremely socially autistic and introverted. If she was a man, she'd either have been a massive incel or a redditcel. But she's a woman so she is worshipped instead
She has a booktube so she gets some orbiters.
And she’s young and looks like she’s being open minded. Take your meds and a nice long break from the intertubes, ‘kay?
At least she likes reading, so there is some chance you can talk with her about something
I am sure after good dicking you can persuade her to dive deeper into poetry and some lighter classics like don quijote. Small steps as they say
A bookstore fiction book sure
Most of the stuff I read, I can't read for anymore than like 2 hours a day or else I will be exhausted. Mental exhaustion is a real thing you know.
The first time I read Pedro Paramo as soon as I finished it I started reading it again. I read that book twice that day. It's like 100 pages though. The longest book I've read in a day was probably Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix when I was a kid, which I remember I stayed up till early in the morning reading it. I read plenty of books in a single day now, though they are novellas, under 150 pages typically. I can read a 300 page book in two days, probably. If it takes more than 3 days to read an average length book then I know that I'm just not enjoying it and I'm avoiding it. I read all the time.
there were some really bad storms one summer
I literally read 3 books in 1 day (hhgttg 1-3)
woke up, looked outside
started reading, finished first, ate, read second, ate, read third.
When it was really bad the next week, I read animal farm and 1984 almost both in same day, but day cleared up later and we went out
Tolstoy read House of the Dead by Dostoevsky in an afternoon (300 pages or so). That wasn't a big deal for him, no mean feat. Why would it be a big deal to you? You probably read a novel's worth of bullshit on IQfy, or Reddit, or news websites every day.
depends on the book. If it's some mush for the brain like The Expanse books I'll just blitz through them in a few days as I'm not concerned about the finer details, but if it's a classic Mishima or Willa Cather book or something I'll deliberately space it out so I can fully appreciate each chapter
Kind of the same, I'd suspect that's the way for most people. If my job were to have a lit YT channel whose earnings were dependent on my output, I'd probably pick up the pace a bit.
I used to but not every day. But then one day I pushed it too much and now I can only read for 20 minutes MAX until I fall asleep, even if I force myself to stay awake I start dreaming and making up my own story.
Anyone got advice on how to fix this? It's been going on for like 5 years so it's not some kind of burnout
Nope

sure if you read comics. Otherwise you have no life.
I could power through what she’s reading at the same pace, yes.

Modern women read books written for kids with extreme ADHD and downsyndrome.

I typically read a book over like a week, and then reread parts of it to better soak in the narrative.

Yes. If it's interesting and not longer than 200 pages. More than 200 pages can cause a light headache to me.
No, because I actually have a life and bills to pay.
Yes, I can.
I remeber I had to write a history paper at uni and only two weeks left in order to give it. I had to read 1/1,5 book a day
I read 2 books a week
