        Why do Japanese claim to fight the declining birth rates while images like that are still legal? It's clear that 3D women have no way to compete, especially when they're ugly bug roasties.

          you have clearly never spent time in the Orient. Those yellow minxes know all manner of ancient pleasures and exotic seductions. Plus their pussies feel so fricking good!

    repairable - yes
    upgradable - questionable especially between cpu generations, PCIe versions and so on.

    It completely depends on how much you care about the value aspect of things. A very simple way to compare them is
    PC = M18 tool
    Laptop = M12 tool

  14. 2 years ago
    Anonymous

    At first glance a laptop looks like a good value proposition when you factor in the price of the monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers and the fact that is has a battery which acts like a built in mini UPS that can run for hours on end and quickly be recharged which a desktop doesn't have. When you look at power delivery/cooling/performance you'll notice a laptop isn't able to keep up with a desktop and thus the value aspect of things goes in favor of the desktop in real world use.

    Back to the M18 vs M12 tool analogy. Both can cut things but with a half an inch stroke length compared to more than an inch, an M12 reciprocating saw is going to be a lot slower when cutting a rusty cast iron pipe.

    Black person it's a lego, even a moron like you should be able to build a PC

    The laptop also costs twice as much for equivalent performance.

    You can build a good desktop and get a notebook with long battery life for the same price as a gaming laptop which will die in 3 hours and not be upgradable

      3H? some "gaming" laptops last even less

  18. 2 years ago

    I think it's very simple:
    If you need it to be portable, buy a laptop, otherwise PC.

    A laptop is inherently a compromise in the name of portability.

      I think my M18 vs M12 analogy works better because laptops also incorporate the aspect of minimalism and space saving even if you stay at home 24/7. Someone who lives in a small apartment that bought an M18 reciprocating saw to cut PVC pipe and thin plywood is going to feel pretty stupid when he realizes a smaller lightweight M12 reciprocating saw could do the same thing.

    shitty laptop that you use to remote desktop into your desktop

  22. 2 years ago

    obviously both, but with a nice desktop all you need is like a cheap laptop and you probably odn't even need that. Most laptop users just set the stupid thing on their desk and never move it, might as well just get a desktop

    people will give me shit but ive been doing fine with an asus rog with a gtx 1060 from early 2018 for $1.2k. Most vidya isn't worthwhile for me to upgrade and most my gaming sessions are games i grew up with in 00s and some from early 2010s. I do wanna upgrade eventually but shit has been convenient as frick. Dunno if you win much these days with prices and building a rig. though i think im gonna try building a pc with a GTX 40xx whenever those come out. my idea of getting something of a gaming rig is so it lasts longer and when it is older still runs fine and fast, i mostly browse IQfy and do work related stuff, torrenting, music, etc.

    i guess my takeaway is a midtier gaming laptop is the move as far as laptops go, seems like just generic laptops go to shit faster for whatever reason, especially if youre reaching your late 20s/early 30s and just dont game all day everyday like you did a teen anymore

    I just bought an Asus Zenbook with a beautiful OLED screen on it, only downside is it's got a soldered 8gb of ram. Hate when they do that, but it's just a media machine for me, I've got a nice desktop for everything else.

    • 2 years ago

      this is why nobody takes laptops seriously, this is an open scam. Only top tier laptops are worthwhile and they are expensive as frick.

        I paid 800 bux for my laptop with IPS display, socketed RAM, NVMe (4xPCIe), SATA, 1xmPCIe, etc. Not really that expensive. Not really high-end, but easily upgradable in a lot of ways.

        >this is an open scam.
        yeah I really just don't understand why they do this, you can open it up and put in another m.2 ssd if you like so why is the ram soldered?

        it would vastly help this machine, but whatever it's a $500 OLED which is all I cared about

          this is how i feel about laptop GPU's i dont understand why they're not swappable like the m2 and 2.5'' slots i have and my ram is upgradable too with 2 slots. just sell the mobile versions of the cards seperately

            or hell the cpu too for that matter, why cant laptops be as modular as pc's? i wouldnt even mind if we went back to the 00s laptop THICC if that was the case
