Long beards are a handicap in hand-to-hand combat. And I may be wrong but I think beards are unsanitary so they highlight a man’s health. Also, large beards can make a man’s face and overall body look smaller, so only a large man could get away it. A big beard on a feminine man is ridiculous, which is why the whole soiboi beard meme exists, even though beards are inherently neither soi nor masculine. They just exaggerate your masculinity or femininity. And of course beards take effort to maintain, so a well-groomed beard is a sign of good hygiene etc.
