Same reason they like Taylor Swift. It’s partly being highly susceptible to marketing and partly feeling like this 40-something justifies the thoughts and feelings that are more appropriate for a teenager well into adulthood.
I saw someone say that Taylor Swift and Colleen Hoover are popular because they're adult women who think like teenage women and that's the sad truth. This generation of women are not going to grow up. Dare I say the world will be totally fricked once zoomers become adults and need to assume adult responsibilities. They aren't ready for it.
>Colleen Hoover
She hits that sweet spot, like Stephanie Meyer or Dan Brown. Her books appeal to stupid readers while smarter readers can find entertainment complaining about how unhinged they are.
"i can fix him" slop with graphic sex, she's literally me lines and taylor swift lines. my wife has read some of her work because all of her friends are into coho(as she is called in circles). here is an example: >"I'm attracted to you, Tate," he says, his voice low. "I want you, but I want you without any of that other stuff." >I have no thoughts left. >Brain = Liquid. >Heart = Butter.
i guess it's good for people to read but colleen hoover's work might actually be detrimental.
Just look at her, she can’t go a few lines without thinking about food

this is art, just imagine youre god surveying the entire history of writing for a moment, tell me that there isn't something for that guy to appreciate in this
>I read verity and ugly love. Both of them were ultimately about boring women Who sound undesirable, no make up, oversized flannel, with no standards. Yet sophisticated grown men with heaps of baggage stop at nothing to pursue these girls and have animalistic sex. Oh and then fall deeply in love even though the women are the most boring characters she could’ve articulated. >I couldn’t even make it through the first half of Verity. She used the word “accident” probably fifteen times in two pages. Even with an internal POV the protagonist approached seeing a man die with the same energy I’d give to accidentally burning scrambled eggs on the stove. And THAT was supposed to be caring more than others. I truly felt like I was a high school English teacher reading a student’s creative writing piece. >She overuses "but" so much
From YA readers.
She’s the epitome of what’s wrong with contemporary literature. Her books her downstream of Taylor Swift and Harry Styles songs. It’s obscene what literature has become.
I guess it’s not her fault. This is commercial literature after all. If women want to read trash in the civilization of fast food and TikTok I say let them. What really bothers me is precisely that this is a civilization of fast food and TikTok and nothing else. We might not get a single truly great novel in my life time…
She was one of the first kindle success stories which inspired many other "New Romance" authors (which she also kinda invented) to write and overflow the market. She actually is at least partly responsible for this current iteration of bodice rippers.

Much better than the fat sow in the OP post.
Why women like her so much?

It doesn't help that the stemcels can't do math or engineering either anymore
What problem? She's rich as blazes, and her writing is popular. Jealous much?

What are her books even about? Is it just romanceslop?

Funny, GRRM does the same thing
She copypastes whole sections and even her own loyal fans complain about her tendency to never write something new.

Can someone fill me on on how Colleen Hoover killed a guy and confessed to it with her "work of fiction" Where the Crawdads Sing?
Ya gots it mixed up mister
wasn't her. you're thinking of delia owens who's real life questioning for murder really make it seem like she did it and wrote a book about it.
