Depressive S0ilence (I like it)
I can't focus without complete silence. If someone talks or I hear literally anything my mind will focus on it. I envy my Mom who stops hearing anything around her when she opens a book

I had this problem until I got my Airpods Pro. I don't even use those motherfrickers for music anymore. Only noise cancellation.

I think this is the best dungeon synth album of all time. After it was released everyone else should have just packed up and gone home.

I have several neighbors that put barking dogs outside at random times and find that classical music drowns out that commotion without being TOO distracting .. one day I need to try some white noise or waterfall sounds or something like that tho because sometimes even the classical gets a little jarring

The only time I'm not listening to music is when it's socially unacceptable to do so. I have a compulsive need to be listening to music at basically all times.

If the author mentions specific music being played within the scene, I'll go listen to it first, just so I can imagine and feel it more clearly.
But I'll never read and listen to the music simultaneously, it's very distracting and feels disrespectful of both.

Ambient if it's a novel. Drone if I have to focus.
Right now I'm listening to Kali Malones Sacrificial Code, which I recommend

Only occasionally, especially if I'm in a loud environment or my roommates are yapping too loud. I put on Coil's Time Machines or Brian Eno's Ambient series if that's the case.
