Do you use custom Windows ISOs?
>Custom Windows ISOs are fundamentally, extremely dangerous, and you shouldn't use them. This is largely because there's no easy way to tell what elements of an ISO have been modified (without inspecting it against a valid ISO yourself - a difficult process). This means that once installed, your PC could immediately become a part of a botnet, have a malicious rootkit installed, or any number of other dangerous.

I don't care im still going to install proprietary ROMs on my google pixel
No. I grab the latest from M$, then write it to USB using Rufus to disable the hardware checks and M$ account requirement, install OS, do updates/reboots, then use O&O ShutUp to disable some telemetry and other nonsense. There are more things to do but it's just for a cheap gaming system, so M$ can watch me game.
try using Ventoy instead of Rufus, u can put multiple .iso files on one usb
has anyone tried AtlasOS yet? i've heard people talking about it a lot lately, will its safe to use?
>try using Ventoy instead of Rufus, u can put multiple .iso files on one usb
that piece of shit soft made me mald because linux mint wasn't working with it and had to dd the old fashioned way
>ventoy
Just be part of the chink botnet bro :^)
I trust chinese software more than ~~*american*~~
there is no chinese software, how could you know to trust it or not?
One can make their own via NTLite or a similar program.
>they don't know
Don't know what?
I code my own in assembly.
>I code my own
Windows ISOs or a program similar to NTLite?

Do It Yourself
>gaymers
no thanks keep your manchild tools for yourself
manchild site
you should really use ntdev instead, the tiny11 guy made a guide on how to use it on his blog if it's too complicated. or just use linux lol
Are they implying that Ghost Spectre is a virus? lol
Used it for years no problem
if you get it from the verified source then yeah its legit. but like fitgirl there are people who upload their shit elsewhere with a bitcoin miner included.
Fitgirl doesn't use a bitcoin miner in their repacks you dumbfrick, you're thinking of the dozens of fake clone websites under their name.
>using trannieware
>just trusting the trannieware to be malware-free
nobody knows who fitgirl is
Yes he does.

Custom ISO are not inherently bad. Big enterprises and government's agencies are using them all the time.
The real issue is the source of the ISO. Getting your ISO from an anonymous source on the net, who's got no liability in any court of justice, is utter moronation, yes.
But pretending that all Custom ISOs are le bad is even more moronic. Frick that journalist.
A botnet cannot operate without an Internet access. Setup a strong firewall, and you won't have to stress about it anymore. Regardless of the OS used on your endpoint.
i got one running in vm that does/never did connect to internet.
some burger made it.
very well done with nice menu and themes and most importantly it has around 35 processes running on boot.
would it be possible to copy configuration of this setup, somehow, via some super user command in windfalls?
>does
*****does not
>i got one running in vm that does/never did connect to internet.
Got the ISO?
>A botnet cannot operate without an Internet access.
counterpoint: MS Pluton with Always On Chip To Cloud 5G Security.
Faradized computer case?
As a manufacturer, that's how you get on the blacklist of every armies and government in the world. Those guys have services dedicated to fight against "leaking electromagnetic emanations". They'll know.
>As a manufacturer, that's how you get on the blacklist of every armies and government in the world. Those guys have services dedicated to fight against "leaking electromagnetic emanations". They'll know.
intel ME is exactly this and the only thing the civil servants told is that the merchants at intel must disable ME
>Frick that journalist.
Isn't he the same that suggested connecting win xp to internet would make it catch viruses?
>Ghost Spectre
ghost in the ghost?
It's like saying Rock Stone
or
Wood Lumber
when you have to be more stealthy than a ghost. i think luigi's mansion 2 had a enemy type like that.
Rock and stone!
Never used a custom ISO but i have made my own customized WinPE with DISM at some point
>don't join russian or chinese botnet
>instead use default nsa botnet
>botnet, have a malicious rootkit installed, or any number of other dangerous
So literally no difference from stock iso?
>XDA warning against using custom ROMs/ISOs
lol, fricking lmao even
I hope M$ is paying them well for this but I know what absolute cucks these homosexuals are so it's probably a pittance anyways.
custom linux: good
custom android: good
custom chromeos: good
custom bsd: good
custom windows: whoah there buddy, that's dangerous!
Research shows custom windows are a prime vector for Russian state actors to undermine our election process. Upto 90% of such computers become part of "tor" network says Pajeet Rajeshtein a security researcher from langley. "Tor" network is part of the so called dark web. A dangerous place for criminals to buy and sell drugs and CASM material to non medically approved users. Such as pedos.
custom windows ISOs makes sense only on VM
as a main desktop LTSC IoT editions are good enough
This, although I did use several custom Win XP isos back in the day
>there's no easy way to tell what elements of an ISO have been modified
Can't you just mount it and recursively hash or diff it?
Folders are fundamentally, extremely dangerous, and you shouldn't use them. This is largely because there's no easy way to tell what elements of a folder have been modified (without inspecting it against and opening it yourself - a difficult process). This means that once opened, your PC could immediately become a part of a botnet, have a malicious rootkit installed, or any number of other dangerous
just download it from mydigitallife, should be fine
They don't allow custom isos (frankenisos) to be posted there, only official isos
This is why you should use an opensource OS such as a GNU/Linux distribution.
You can either join Microsoft's poojeet botnet or a Russian botnet or a chink botnet. There's no option to run Wangblows without a botnet.
>You can either join Microsoft's poojeet botnet or a Russian botnet or a chink botnet. There's no option to run Wangblows without a botnet.
Open task manager, find the gay ass application that's causing 90% cpu usage and end task.
If it springs back up immediately then open file at location and figure some shit out
I'll take what is a rootkit? for $500, Alex.
>trusting the task manager
kek
Yuo are fricking saying what b***h basterd??
The TaskManager was writen by a based senior white developer to debug his work. Absolute A+ white man code and historical
The only custom ISO I ever used is one I did myself with nlite
nlite is based but you can copy the custom builds too. No one sane uses Windows for important comms anyway or anything but gayming if connected to inturweebz. I keep my installs in VMs unless I need bare metal to flash an LS ECU or something which is no risk and doesn't need internet. I have a stack of old T61 for that stuff (with SSDs because I don't hate myself).
Ok. I'll just not use windows 🙂
No because I'm not moronic.
I don't even trust genuine Windows ISOs
Yes I do. Been doing this for over 20 years. Never had an issue.
The botnet thanks your contribution. We use few percent of your resources. Thank you.
>moron thinks untouched windows iso isn't botnet
This is the kind of moronation that keeps our friends from the other side of the galaxy from visiting.
Only one I've downloaded recently is one from archive.org, a debloated LTSC 2021. The guy documented what he did and how (you) can also do it so it's all transparent. So far I'm getting better results with it than what I had before which was 10 Home. That said when I was a kid and had an acer aspire netbook I hopped between isos for fun
link?
seconding this question. someone please convince me to not reinstall my windows for some meme custom os
https://archive.org/details/win10_iot_enterprise_ltsc_2021_x64_cleaned
May God bless your life friend.
I remember you could easily make your own custom ISO with win 7 and on back and was simply just copying and pasting files and using a program to embed your files so the installation can read them. Not sure if anything changed with 10 and up so I have no clue why anyone would choose to download someone's else's ISO instead of making their own.
Took me awhile to realize you people are talking about downloading already made debloaters online. Can't you debloat them yourself when making the USB installers?
>You shouldn't use a custom Windows ISO because it makes us harder to track you as the telemetry already been removed and this makes you being targeted as suspected individuals that may pose threat to goverment.
You should definately not strip out the botnet that safegaurds our vibrant and inclusive democracy. extremely dangerous for democracy
Imagine the absolute state of shartblows that you need to use custom isos in 2024 like it's fricking windows xp
what's next, update packs?
>update packs
Those have always existed
https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com
microturd site and i'm pretty sure you can only download and install those one by one
Doesn't contradict what you wrote though.
I'm waiting for Windows 11 GOLD edition
>Do you use custom Windows ISOs?
Does Win 11 IoT LTSC qualify as one? It has UWP/MS Store removed, and OOB settings tweaked.
>Custom Windows ISOs are fundamentally, extremely dangerous
>because there's no easy way to tell what elements of an ISO have been modified (without inspecting it against a valid ISO yourself
Does every loonixtard inspects their "open sources" against binaries they get from their appsto..I mean repositories? Cause if not...
I use a custom ISO because the only thing Windows is good for is games, and all serious stuff gets done on macOS+Linux
>once installed your PC could immediately become part of a botnet
>could
I thought this was the norm on windows
You really shouldn't eat food.
Food is fundamentally, extremely dangerous, and you shouldn't eat it. This is largely because there's no easy way to tell what elements of the food has been modified (without inspecting it against a microscope yourself - a difficult process). This means that once eaten, your body could immediately become a part of a wormnet, have a malicious nutrient digested, or any number of other dangerous.
This has always been the case, if you used any of those "EXZTREME CYKA GAYMER EDITION" of windows XP you're a moron.
They were the rage in the mid 2000s. Haven't used them since some smart guy decided to replace the Windows XP calculator with some pink leopard pattern themed one.
At the moment, I have enough with the adjustments to privacy questions rufus can do when preparing an install pendrive for 10.
Yes I do. No, that article won't stop me
>You really shouldn't use Windows
I have a windows 10 LTSC iso with absolutely nothing on it, but what is needed to boot and run the OS. everything else you have to compile and install from scratch. Not even networking is installed. Literally NOTHING.
>you shouldn't use this OS because you can't tell if some part of it's code is malicious
>you SHOULD use this other OS, where you can't tell if some part of it's code is malicious
okay then
This.
If it's not fully Open Source, into the trash it goes.
Is this where are we going?
I remember modding and ISO was peak.
What happened?
The scene faded as normies stupid enough to use Windows for "secure" tasks entered with no warez background and are terrified of everything. The chant "botnet" as if anything they would ever do with their lives would matter to the dreaded "glowies" not realizing that their triviality is their shield.
Custom .isos and custom WinPE'ish builds like BartPE made life much more convenient.
>What happened to this site?
Utter turbohomosexualry happened.
PRECISELY what are you risking? Name what you are risking. No one does.
(Sam Kinison voice) SAY IT!
>custom WinPE'ish builds
Anything that's still active? Last I recall hiren's CD died, and was replaced with something that's a joke to what the previous one was.
Very true. You just never know what's been done.
Only use open source builders, scripts and playbooks.
CTT WinUtil and AtlasOS are my go-to's.
whats the difference between me using tiny11/ghost spectre and me debloating IoT LTSC? genuine question why would anyone risk using a custom iso when they can download an official bloat-free version directly from microsoft and run O&O Shutup10++ to disable israeli telemetry? if you need more you may as well just install troonix
>to disable israeli telemetry
Nothing disables ALL telemetry. Just some.
I'd still rather microsoft collect my data than some random
>i-it's OK because MS is le good!
Stockholm Syndrome.
Unplugging from the internet does.
>what is Amazon sidewalk
doesn't
>amazon sidewalk
>when talking about a windows device
does
Works with anything that supports wifi or bluetooth actually. MS is an Amazon partner in the Sidewalk network.
mario if he do I fit in yet?
Please see:
based, always remove parts by yourself from an official ISO
This is from XDA 🙁
What happened to this site?
Wvut due yoou mean sar?
>You wouldn't steal a windows
If it's a gayming box you don't do anything important with it anyway since shopping and banking are for your other OS on another PC. Nobody serious about security uses Windows on their home system or only has one computer. Even thirdies can dual boot.
>implying a real windows installation isnt part of a botnet
>implying you can inspect real windows code for modifications or fishy code
>implying vanilla windows has no rootkits, backdoors or spyware
>implying implications
They mean pre-configured ISOs instead of starting with a checksummed official iso and configuring it yourself with DISM. And that's always been true, downloading "Windows 7X Black Hacker Edition Precracked.exe" was always moronic.
Name 1 iso that ISN'T preconfigured?
No, I have half a braincell. Everything custom roms say they "do" can be done by yourself or with public scripts. All without risking your self over some moron russian script kiddie.
huh? why can't you just take a vanilla windows ISO and patch it with the changes made by whoeverthefrick they release on github, then YOU made the ISO yourself. Can you not just do that?
Waiting for the day they tells us to rollback Windows Updates because something malicious was hidden in an official update.
A long time ago when I didn't know what I was doing, I used a custom debloated Windows XP ISO from TPB and nothing bad happened. It may have been part of botnet or something.
i mod the builds myself, unlike some posers
I mean downloading a customized one is straight up moronic but using one you customized yourself is no more dangerous than configuring the same stuff post-install, assuming the software used to create the custom ISO is trustworthy.
Don't use windows at all, period. Switch to FreeBSD.
Imagine how many companies have saars in their IT department using slipstreamed isos they didn't create, that's comedy.
I recently have completely disabled this shitty microshit defender, now my system werx just fine. Finally I found a real working guide without a bullshit.
If you're willing to use a custom Windows ISO, you should just switch to Linux at that point.
He's not wrong, ISOs can be packed full of malware, spyware, take control away from you and basically frick your shit up.
The ISOs not specifically for download from microsoft directly also have this problem.
>Windows ISOs are fundamentally, extremely dangerous, and you shouldn't use them. This is largely because there's no easy way to tell what elements of the OS are spyware (without decompiling it yourself - a difficult process). This means that once installed, your PC could immediately become a part of a botnet, have a malicious rootkit installed, or any number of other dangerous.
>This means that once installed, your PC could immediately become a part of a botnet, have a malicious rootkit installed, or any number of other dangerous.
sure, if you install a random custom ISO that *might* happen, but if you install an official Windows ISO you know for a fact that all those things *will* happen
>Custom Windows ISOs
homie just use $OEM$
>stop hurting your anus
Bidets solve this, fricking burgers I swear.
