Do you mean the code comments feature for PR? It's absolutely amazing for code review, pretty much all software for code review allows that,. it's not for social purposes, it's to actually talk about code being pulled.

It’s unfortunate you don’t have anyone else capable of reviewing your code because you’re lonely. One day you’ll find someone, champ. “She” will most likely either be robotic or a dominating male masquerading as female, but at least you’ll have someone/something. Hang in there. Literally.

it's so fricking annoying to me how some people overvalue their time to the point that getting a non-important notifications ruins their life when they could just delete it without telling anyone
a few years back I saw some homosexual discussion about phones on hackernews and most of them said they don't give out their phone number, because they're getting distracted by calls while they "need to focus"
one guy had a whole automated system where he was paying for 4 monthly plans and some google voice subscription, which would transcribe what was being said and then based on his moronic options it would redirect to the correct phone
is this "thrown out of focus" a real thing? I've never had the problem with answering some unrelated question or doing some random shit and then coming back and continue working

        Anonymous

It's a cope for midwits. If a stray email or phone call can completely mindbreak you to the point where you cease to function then you were never a good or useful programmer. People with this personality tend to suffer from Dunning-Kruger delusions about their own abilities and have completely insufferable personalities.

I get distracted by random shit all the time. good for you to be able to work in shitty work environments, but I'd rather work in a silent, comfy place.
I'm not a dev by occupation, though. I'm glad of that, you sad code monkeys

        Anonymous

If I don't want to get bothered I just put my phone on silent mode and I ignore it. The end. Every now and then I check my email, unsubscribe from the spam and delete it, flag as spam the malicious spam, and move on for a total time expenditure of one minute. I really can't see the problem.

Pajeets don't develop or program, they literally piss code, they would rewrite basic functions like abs() or sqrt() instead of using existing libraries. If they were as good as westerners, all companies would already have outsourced all their IT workforce.

      Anonymous

      >rewrite basic functions like abs() or sqrt()
i'm kind of curious how a pajeet would rewrite sqrt. in C libraries it's implemented with a mix of fixed point iterations and polynomial interpolation. i can't think of a dumb, easy way they would write it. unless it's something like
      sqrt(x) = exp(0.5 * log(x))

        Bottom Randy

        > i'm kind of curious how a pajeet would rewrite sqrt

That was an example. But they still could go Carmack's way (inverse square root though) by sacrificing accuracy for performance gain (even though it was actually pretty ingenious).

          Anonymous

Carmack put it to use but:
          >The source code for Quake III was not released until QuakeCon 2005, but copies of the fast inverse square root code appeared on Usenet and other forums as early as 2002 or 2003.[7] Initial speculation pointed to John Carmack as the probable author of the code, but the original authors proved to be much further back in the history of 3D computer graphics. Rys Sommefeldt concluded that the original algorithm was devised by Greg Walsh at Ardent Computer in consultation with Cleve Moler, the creator of MATLAB.[3] Cleve Moler learned about this trick from code written by William Kahan and K.C. Ng at Berkeley around 1986.

        Arabs ?

I worked for a company outsourcing 90% of their developers in tunisia and Madagascar, in some PHP files there was a strange function call which was named "mourrir()" ( = die, in french), its source consisted of a single "die()" call.
