It was probably the most advanced in the world or at least on par with China. Europe far behind.
Mind you I’m judging “advancedness” very liberally. Not saying their ideas were good or correct or anything like that. Just very well studied.
Both Chinese and Arabs had medicinal obsession with alchemy which probably caused a lot of harm but nonetheless very advanced learning
well a ttransated arab text became standard for a milennium in europe so
mb about 700 years
the book of optics was also very important for european anatomy, dunno if that was what you meant
"The Canon of Medicine" was one of the most influential medical books in history. It was the Islamic equivalent of the
"Hippocratic Corpus"
yes. 700 years is very impressive especially since it survived both the medieval and renaissance
>Islamic VS chinese/european
Why you morons always compare religions and peoples
theres nothing wrong with comparison. it becomes and issue when people try to make it a meathead competition
Up until the 15th century or so, Islamic medicine was the most advanced in the world. But it was still primitive by our modern standards. Modern medicine really only starts in the early 20th century, everything prior to that was pretty shit.
t. took a class on the history of medicine as part of my MD program
medicine is kinda moronic anyways, took my doctor 5 years to diagnose me with precordial catch syndrome, dumbass thought the pain came from my back even though i told him it was my chest
Western medicine went completely down the drain in the beginning of the 20th century. Many established practices were suddenly outlawed and deemed pseudo-scientific so that pharmacists could have a monopoly on healthcare.
Do you have any clue how dumb this sounds
It's the truth. Look into how the Rockefellers made synthetic drugs essentially the only legally approved form of medicine, and slandered natural remedies as ineffective and superstitious.
i like you. are you on discord or write anywhere else?
I rarely ever use discord. And no I don't write anywhere. I'm just someone who over the years has become increasingly aware of the corruption of orthodox medicine.
alright. if you see decently redpilled posts they might be me
are you sincere? the medical industry has been under the control of corporations for a long time. medicine in their hands keep people sick so they can maintain steady profits. if you dont respond rationally im going to assume youre a shill.
Again this sounds insane to me. I know how basic medicine works. It’s not about keeping people sick. That’s literally pants on head backwards thinking
the bad news is that corporations took over medicine, and scams like prozac are meant to keep people sick and dependent. the good news is that people like us can do our part in resisting globohomo. you may or not be a shill, but anons are getting redpilled.
this. we unironically need to bring back bloodletting.
hes right about big pharma being a scam. big pharma forces addiction and dependency. completely against the hippocratic oath
Greek tier, muslims never innovated, just copied and translated greek books
it was literally advanced only because they had books from rome that were brought east as shit hit the fan and libraries were burnt so roman doctors like Galen are to thank for arabic medical science. while we literally did have dark ages cause rebels or marauders burnt all our libraries the arabs had translates all our shit and had a good old time till the mongols shoved a boot up their ass
It depends. On theoretical level their stuff was adapted by Europeans in later periods but in many ways this stuff was all trash, just reframing of the humour theory and other such ideas plus the likely Persian in origin obsession with mercury based medicine. A good example of some of the idiocy is the idea of tooth worm.
On practical level however these types of highly educated doctors of medicine were rare and likely just like in europe you were more likely to interact with a surgeon who was more of a craftsman than a scholar and in some likelihood he had more pragmatic and effective approach.
