No. If I saw a man breaking into my house exclusively for property (no danger to people inside, say if they’re not at home) I wouldn’t stop him if the only way to do it is by risk to life or limb. I would hit him very hard or tie him up etc. but nothing passed that

      Absolutely yes
      Criminals forfeit all rights

The only people who will own any property in the future are the elite so unless you are one of those few people you better hope your life is worth more then someone elses property.

by doing this you also value your life and health less than whatever scraps you scrounged up during your suburban existence
the criminal could also have a gun and shoot you first

besides i can simply insure my property from theft and i will get it refunded as long as i took reasonable precautions against theft such as locking the door

Yes, Property is more important. Human life is overrated, the world already has too many humans and most of them are parasites rather than producers. Those who lack the sociability to properly integrate shouldn’t be propagating their genes and owners deserve the right to stand their ground when somebody threatens their enterprise.

Consequently, banning abortion is institutionalized dysgenics and all it will do is dump more low quality riff raff on the public system and calling it murder is the most moronic sanctimonious hot take imaginable. If men can stand their ground against intruders women can too. If some redneck’s shitbox is worth more than an intruder’s life so is a woman’s uterus. The alternative is a world overrun with intruders and parasites rather than a managed population of productive individuals

i can assure you that my work has saved society more money than my life has cost it up until now.
but your "productive over everything" world view is literal bugmen mentality. there is more to life than productivity.

It has nothing to do with property or material things. If someone breaks into your home, you don't know what their motive or intent is. They have violated your literal safe space and your sovereignty. You, the owner or resident of the home, should feel compelled to eradicate the threat as soon as possible. You have every right, duty, and obligation to act as a white blood cell and eliminate them by any means necessary.

It is not reasonable to expect somebody in a house to determine the intentions of someone breaking in. They may be seeking property, or they may be seeking to harm the person inside the house. Without knowing their intentions, it is reasonable to respond to the worst case scenario.

I look forward to the day that trillionaires own almost all land, forbid the ownership of guns for anyone except themselves and their security, and start executing anyone they want for trespassing. Truly a Capitalist wonderland.

No, HOWEVER. I do not know what a robber wants. If I am cornered on the street, one jerky move by me while trying to pull out my wallet might turn a robbery into a stabbing. If someone breaks into my home, I do not know if they are there for my television, my family, or my life. Those are bets I prefer to hedge. That is not saying I would enjoy any of this - I would spend just as much time with a priest (and therapist) sorting out my spiritual (and psychological) health after shooting a robber as I would someone actively in the process of attempting to kill me.

It doesn’t work like that. I have private property rights.

You do not have a right to your own life, you have a right to not be murdered. Big difference.

    >a criminal's life's value
How can something I can't own have any value to me?

  13. 2 years ago

    Sure.
It was narrated that Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: A man came to the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allaah, what do you think if a man comes wanting to take my property? He said: “Do not give him your property.” He said: What if he fights me? He said: “Fight him.” He said: What if he kills me? He said: “Then you will be a martyr.” He said: What if I kill him? He said: “He will be in Hell.” Narrated by Muslim (140).

I wouldn't kill a burglar, but I'd probably snap all of his fingers, break his arm or beat the life out of him until his face is unrecognizable

Better for him to live a life of complete and utter misery with arthritis than just bother with the psychological damage of killing someone

Fat Americans are obsessed with being put in a situation that allows them to murder someone. Like the point is the murder and feeling allowed to more than "self defense" and shit like that.

You would go to prison for that
You have the right to defend your life, not to torture someone, especially if you were able to detain them.

    No.
One should anyeays try to deescalate the situation before attacking. The thief equally doesn't want to fight to the death if he can avoid it. Maybe he'll flee once he knows he's been found out. Warn your neighbors.
Negotiate with him while armed maybe.
    Thieves can stop being thieves.

    Yes.

I would argue that anything with a non-zero value is more valuable than the life of a burglar, since the burglar's life has a net negative value on account of his conduct towards you. The bullet you'd shoot him with is worth more than he is.
