>what is drag n drop
Yeah, thumbnails in the filepicker is not so important when you don't have millions of variations of feelsguy saved in the name of unix timestamps.
Weird how that comes first in your mind trying to defend your hobby trash.
At last they've finally fixed the top display shitting itself on login, it only took them two fricking years.
Still, 5.25 looks awesome, they've finally wrapped their heads around how to do a classic DE while adding modern touches.
I don't think so, the design principles have parted ways too much to be able to steal kde design again.
Windows it's now designed for literal braindead people to push ads and sell your data.
Why yes, GNOME is a DE for grown-up WORKING MEN like ME, so I'm just going to spend next 8 hours arguing on anonymous imageboard why it's so good for productivity.
like month ago i've decided to switch from KDE to Gnome on my fedora workstation. Compared to Manjaro, Fedora's KDE implementation is dogshit, even after switching to xorg kde.
You can do anything you want in KDE, but the overall UX. Gnome is memed to infinity and beyond for being stupidly simple, but it has everything I need. Atleast with Gnome I dont have to solve shit like themes being inconsistent between GTK and QT apps, having to unlock KWallet or whatever that shit every time a password is involved (im sure some quick search would solve it). I like gnome's implementation of virtual desktops where you can drag and drop application windows whereever you want and reorder the desktops how you want.
Also one last thing. >picrel
i dont get this fricking meme with thumbnails
I'm the opposite. I prefer having named, static workspaces like on Cinnamon, and hate that Gnome doesn't have simple things like compact view and tray icons.
>looks like a traditional desktop (taskbar, tray icons, fairly normal menu) >I like how workspaces work (named, static workspaces) >gtk apps and de look better than KDE's and even Windows' >nemo has everything I need, including compact view and a properly editable sidebar (including allowing to remove the default xdg folders) >desktop icons, mostly for recommending it to normalgays that use it >doesn't have hideable tray icons like Windows by default, but there is an applet that does that (compared to Gnome that needs an extension just for having always visible tray icons) >fairly stable; never had it break on me once
It's not perfect, tbf, but it's the one that better services me.
Use whatever is best for you.
What's cool about linux is that there are many desktop environments and windows managers to make it work and look just like you want.
I'm a new linuxgay using Debian + GNOME 42 and so far is a comfy as frick experience. Everything is clean and straightforward, and even the images files display the thumbnails normaly.
Can not relate to what people complain here at all.
On the other hand, I tried KDE before and it felt poverty as frick. Bloated, too many unnecessary options, and the whole apps beginning with "K" thing is tacky as frick. Poor man's windows 7.
I try gnope every year or so. Although nowadays its at least faster, it still suffers, and always will, from bad design. Bless the gods for Plasma, otherwise people would forever be stuck with xfeces.
*krashes*
GNOME is usable. KDE is a hobby.

hey bruce long time no see, still fighting about DE's?

frick kde
It's only idiot's that use gnome. Idiots and contratrian Linux tourist's.
>Look guise it's not mac or windozeee
People who aren't like that will be using KDE or a tiling window manager.
>People who aren't like that
Oh you mean tinker trannies? They LOVE their rainbow color themes and tiling windows.
At last they've finally fixed the top display shitting itself on login, it only took them two fricking years.

This. It looks like another home run for Microsoft.

imagine not using lightweight xfce
bot thread

Plasma looks like I'm using win 10 at least with gnome it looks like I'm using a different OS
not lightweight enough for my toaster
I like FEET
Why yes, GNOME is a DE for grown-up WORKING MEN like ME, so I'm just going to spend next 8 hours arguing on anonymous imageboard why it's so good for productivity.
KDE > first choice
GNOME > just say no.
Why yes, gnome is worthless fricking bloat with zero redeeming features whatsoever.

Typical gnometard doesn't know the difference between a file manager and a file picker.

What do you like about Cinnamon?
It just works and doesn't try to reinvent the wheel. I switched from windows 10 to Linux 1.5 years ago and stopped distro hopping at mint+cinnamon

KDE is the most bloated buggy DE I've ever used
Use whatever is best for you.

You all idiots are arguing about a non-issue.
Also, this website is fricking moronic.
If the main options are moronic, people will rightfully complain.
>Also, this website is fricking moronic.
Then leave.
nah.. i like to come here and point out how fricking moronic you all are.
Sometimes, some homosexual like yourself gets offended and moronicly asks me to leave. LMAO

Already?
So, you're just an attention prostitute. Got it.
Debian Testing

I like to think the same people who like gnome over kde are the same people who like nano over vim.
It makes the world seem less full of morons.
