      1. it doesn't store keys by default and it doesn't even tell you that bitlocker is enabled

Full-disk encryption is not enabled unless you either sign in with a Microsoft account or turn it on manually in the system settings.
        It's a moron-proof system you've somehow managed to crack.

Well it's either one or the other. Either you logged in with a Microsoft account or manually enabled bitlocker. good luck figuring out which one it is.

I already disabled it. The point is that someone who is not tech savy is going to nuke their fricking drive because Microsoft is moronic

So you logged in with a Microsoft account at one point, and then removed it.
Well there's your answer. The decryption key is in your OneDrive.
            Happy computing!

I'm not sure what you get out of being moronic, but it does not automatically upload anywhere. There are no keys stored ANYWHERE unless you first choose to save them somewhere. If you were to make a change to your device before saving the keys you are completely screwed.

Holy frick, yes it does. I have been repeatedly telling this.
Hell, even Bitlocker is trying to tell you this.
            >For more information on how to retrieve this key, go to aka.ms/recoverykeyfaq
            >Sign in to your Microsoft account on another device to find your recovery key. This is the most likely place to find it.

Sure, fine, yes. The recovery key doesn't get uploaded by default, you really are a woman, and that dress doesn't make you look fat at all. Enjoy your broken Windows install.

I dunno about that one. This feature has been around since Windows 8 and the only people who seem to run into this problem are IQfytards.

What happens if you store the recovery key for your encrypted drive on your encrypted drive? Well then you're moronic, and if you get locked out it's gone forever.

I'd wax triumphally that this will finally be the end of Microsoft, that they've gone too far and normies will not put up with it. But sadly the normies will just continue consooming and bending over. The decline is happening across all levels of society.
