Walked in a gypsy's tent with a food stamp
And walked out with a magical lamp, yeah
I met Milenko, he gave me three wishes
That night, I fricked three fat b***hes

I can't find the strength to put any work into creative or otherwise good things anymore because people's behavior is so appalling and alien I don't feel like giving them anything. I think whatever I am going to give to people will only feed the never ending circle of consumerism and cynical deconstruction. How can I create something with all of my heart and mind when I see people rape and devour everything they touch like a bunch of rabid animals? And at this point I doubt I would be able to create something that speaks to anyone anyway. It seems like people only want things I hate.

Is it worth writing a book for the stories in my head or would a comic or something that's mixed media work as well? I find making visuals easier than writing.

I don’t have the data but I don’t think Western comics are more read than novels. That’s just Japanese manga.

I think you have to just identify what medium suits you and run with that. Ideally, it should feel like you have to do that one.

AI is only good for those coomer role games.

and even for erotica the genre is exausted after Sade.

I still don't get how overly hyped and rated they were. It's bare bones shit. Electric Gems YT channel has a thousand of that nostalgic 80s shit and even the 80s had a lot of music like them. But women and hipsters need to signal they're cool. Also she ironically wears Mariah tee. How embarrassing and immature.

Part of the problem. Isn’t it? There is very little demand for contemporary writing and thus nobody writes.

Because American society is cancerous and has plagued most countries with our deranged fixation on face, shitlib politics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks. Look at what’s being published in the most “prestigious” literary journals and who gets accepted to Iowa’s writing workshop: all affirmative action acceptances

Idk I think most Western countries had a bit of tjay going on in different ways totally independent of us, but still, it’s not even just that this idpol shit gets put in everything and rammed down your throat. Even if you remove all that, it’s just not good. Nothing is good anymore.

I used to think Roth was right that the novel can’t compete with the screen but seeing manga outsell not both novels and comics as well seems to show it’s not just a problem of print but of culture also. I think the culture is basically pure poison at this point and I want to withdraw from it personally.

Sometimes i wish i were born at the beginning of the 20th century. Say the 20s. So i would get to witness the last literary movements and die before the 00s, preferably.

books don't die you fricking idiot. And Schlock has always been a thing. First example of it I know of are the Roman Travel logs, where sailors would leave for a few years, come back, and lie through their teeth about bullshit adventures they had. it was mass-produced trash that was the ancient equivalent of Marvel movies. Satirists of the time would repeatedly shit on them for being complete bullshit
