The nearest gel pen or permanent marker. I avoid pencils and bics like the plague because they don't fricking work. I have a few personal pens consisting of a 3 pack of sakura micron PNs I got for $4.50. I've only used the black and blue ones three times because almost no one needs you to use a pen anymore (so you might as well make sure the ink can't be washed off the page when you do).
I used to use fountain pens in college for a while, but there is no real smoothness advantage to be had there. Most dry out in days to weeks except for a $5 platinum preppy using platinum's ink and most fountain pen ink either forms clogs even in a $5 platinum preppy, isn't permanent, or writes a fuzzy line 2x the intended size if you don't use a curated selection of papers.
People throw these on the ground as fast as they pick them up. They barely work and the ink isn't even permanent. These skippy pieces of shit are only good for filling out inconsequential guest books. Its 1940s tech so you should not be surprised that it's junk.

Thank you bic pen, we are grateful for your work.

8 times more and i can wash every letter off with a $3 bottle of acetone just to frick with you, but im sure your hand cramps will leave you wishing you didnt israelite out over two bucks. Penny pinchers would get the rope, but the rope they’d buy would break >no biggie haha i got way more rope for the same amount of money. oops, broke again. can i borrow yours?

people who israelite out are turbo homosexuals because they do it to brag about it >look at me i saved $5 a year
grats in the time you spent talking about it i made $30 because i have a job. if thriftgays put as much energy into learning the basics of stock trading or coding as they do into avoiding spending pocket change they would have an extra $5-50k a year instead of losing $2 of their $5 to inflation.

You homosexuals want to talk about the value of a dollar? Alright then! What gets me is that you homosexuals pay for pens at all. Nobody uses pens anymore. Computers are faster, more secure, and more cost effective. In the odd case some company or legal firm is behind the times and wants shit filled out on paper and god forbid mailed, steal a good pen with permanent ink for that. Like literally any uniball or one of those fine tip markers they make for drafting. Don't pay for a bunch. Steal one. If you don't purposefully try to waste ink drawing flowers in a "bullet journal" (soi shit) that one stolen pen will probably last your entire life because paper and ink will be totally phased out of business by the 2030s.
They are luxury items so the bic consoomers are every bit as soi as some homosexual who paid nearly $100 for a shitty chink pen that breaks
>in 2022 I am forgotten
or $30 for a pen that's the same as a $5 preppy. It's not how much money you spend it's that it's totally wasted on soi shit.

I only spent $10 on that fountain pen, and I've had that pen for years. The ink I use now isn't waterproof (Diamine ink) but obviously you could use any waterproof ink like Noodlers Black. Haven't had any issues with the nib drying out, it is a hooded nib so that probably helps.

I use them for regular writing every day. I love thicc and juicy lines and, unlike wood pencils, lead holders don't change their lenght as you sharpen the tip. Also there are plenty of lead choices you can try in it.

it works well by keeping your writing legible. which is important, because the only use for pencils is math.

I really wouldn't know or care because I never used that pen and their fountain pen which I was talking about works fine, and is functionally superior to much more expensive reddit pens.
I only spent $10 on that fountain pen, and I've had that pen for years. The ink I use now isn't waterproof (Diamine ink) but obviously you could use any waterproof ink like Noodlers Black. Haven't had any issues with the nib drying out, it is a hooded nib so that probably helps.
pencils because i have bad luck with pens
ballpoint bics just die constantly even when there's a ton of ink left
ballpoint gel pens love to constantly skip on the page
fountain pens usually bleed through the paper and are not very good for writing in many places
micron pn pens are tempting but they're quite expensive for something that can't be refilled
I refuse to spend $20 on 3 eraser refills for my rotrings. My original idea was to use a small metal tube to press replacement erasers from larger standalone erasers, but standalone erasers are invariably too soft to be used in a pencil tip (they just fragment and immediately break in half).
I've found success re-using the spent erasers from regular wooden pencils but that's not very scalable or reliable.
How do you guys get your eraser refills? Do any of you know of a hand-held eraser stiff enough to stand up to being a refill?
Pilot varsities, platinum preppies, and zebra sensations are all way more useful and reliable than the stupid overpriced fountain pens redditors simultaneously consoom, recommend, and complain about. The disposables are even between the cost per ml of cartridges and bottled ink, which people have to actively try to use up because it lasts forever with f/ef nibs >guuuuuys my twsbi cracked and my booteek ink and lamy can only be used with special paper and my kaweco cracked and my super premium platinum custom heritage gold edition broke when i cleaned noodlers out of it and my lelikan dried out after a week and… >anyways buy that stuff instead of a platinum preppy so you can graduate to being a real fountain pen consoomer

Probably, I've never seen that in any US store before.
