The mask was supposed to be a blast shield. The thought process was that it would help to protect the wearer from a nuclear blast. Here's a video from the time period about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWu0S5FVQVM

If only there was a President MacArthur instead of Eisenhower.

I have come to realize it only wants 3 boxes. In rare occasions two with the singular picture and you can often get away with 4 with the multi small scene. But it wants 3 correct squares.

Bad idea I'd say.
It'd normalize the use of nukes in war, which would probably have lead to some kind of nuclear exchange between the US and USSR.
As is that mental fear of nukes was a big part of why that never happened, on top of general concerns about being able to beat the other on both sides.

The US probably could of destroyed the Soviet Union in 1950 with its nukes and come out relatively unscathed.

On the scale of a nuclear war death toll, that is pretty light.

The only parts that would have been destroyed were the leftist hotspots.

You're assuming the US in the 50's is the same as in our 20's. A brainlet move, to be honest, since cities and their populations were different back then.
100% believe it. Imagine a timeline where Patton was SecDef during the start of Nam.

My ducking fick!
Patton would have loved Korea. He would never have made a position like that though, he was too blunt. War was his forte and politics his weakness.
Left is an F-4D-29-MC, s/n 66-7461 of the 127th TFS Kansas ANG, 1980s. Right is an F-4C--22-MC of the 4485th Test Squadron, 33rd TFW, 1966. Transferred to 480th TFS, 366th TFW and then shot down while landing at Da Nang, July 1967.
the f104 crashed so much because most of it's users were morons that thought it was a dogfighter when it was only called a fighter bomber because it could equip Sidewinders. frick you if you think this was a bad plane.
>1950s US Military
OP prepare your anus
What’s with the israelite mask?
Probably a low profile gas mask.

Top kek reminds me of the poor bastards the army had march towards mushroom clouds after nuclear detonations

I got so much stuff but the CAPTCHA is fricking me up.
Do you not like finishing 7 different cross walk and traffic light captchas in a row just to post a single image?
And the post cool down timers
Boats and bicycles is what really gets my motor racing.

That's why I always assume it's using moron logic

The real play is to deliberately feed it mistakes to introduce errors into future pretrained networks.
Honestly, the irony of anti-robot checks being one of the main tools for training robots shouldn't be lost on anyone.
Glad I'm not the only one
The moped one still gets me. Everytime I comply, I can just sense that somewhere my father feels a bit of pain.
Sniperized 03-A3 in the background.
Love those Unertl scopes.
These are recruits from MCRD San Diego at the rifle range in 1956.
might be earlier but I just like this pic
That was taken at Sheri Castle on Okinawa in 1945.
Check the dude who's got a duck stuffed into his pack.
The Monty Python skits that I headcanon around this duck make me smile.
Tactical duck quacks if he spots a asiatic.
duck in a ruck, a marine thing
not napalm, I've seen it deployed and it base of smoke is wider, this looks like arty dropping in but with the usual rounds

Korea does strike me as perhaps the most unique war in the US's history.
We should have just let MacArthur nuke China.
Bad idea I'd say.

We should have let Patton take Moscow
Based
Goddamn Patton was based
That is exactly why the OSS / GRU had him killed.
100% believe it. Imagine a timeline where Patton was SecDef during the start of Nam.

thank you, Sir!

Didn't swinging start in the 50s with usaf officer? So there is a chance an orgy happened in a giant phallic peacemaker
>Didn't swinging start in the 50s with usaf officer
Yes, there was never an "orgy" before 1953.
Pretty sure the Romans and Greeks had some of those at least.
Bacchus and all that.
israeli propaganda.

How can a plane so beautiful be such a shitpiece? 🙁

Heres the internal detonator from a Mark 4 bomb carried by the B36 Peace maker 075 when it was lost on Mt Koliget BC.
another spare detonator sitting in the wreckage of the Peacemaker in the late 80s taken by Canadian demolition clean up crews.
I just want a good Battlefield: Korea, dag nabbt
They’d probably fill the game full of Black folk, trannies, gays, and women if it was made today.
triple threat: it can bomb you, shoot you or fall on you.

I love this aesthetic of atomic age fighters
narrow, cone shaped body with the tiniest wings that could still achieve enough lift
