>They're our rivals
maybe this could be argued back in the shazbowl. if you've actually gone on that website lately you'll see that it's all bots and insane ssri roasties/troons now (possibly also bots).
The original Reddit people have been hybridised with the tumblerites and Twittercels to create the monstrosity that is the E-Normie also called the Nu-Redditor.

Yeah this. They still think they're some sort of libertarian and have the smug nerd attitude from before but implanted with all the latest beliefs.

Redditors only believe in the current thing. If the EXPERTS came out tomorrow saying it's our social responsibility to have a purge day and that if you refuse to participate you're anti (social) science, redditors would be the first ones to support it.
>Venture onto reddit to check out the reception of the RvW overturn >a sea of comments blaspheming God, with many threats to round up Christians and kick them off a cliff
I imagine they'd be a big fan of Vonnegut's writing, OP.xkn4y
Neil fricking Gaiman >what if all the world's mythologies and religions were TWEE and QUIRKY!!! >p.s. I'm totally not a Scientologist I just actively donate huge amounts of money to them lol
I was filtered at page 25 for The Dispossessed.
I figured she was popular because >womyn author! >muh socialism/anarchism, so edgy!
The dullest, most uninspired opening to any genre book I ever saw. Maybe it got good later, but honestly if an author can't impress me in any way shape or form within 25 pages, I'm guessing they're not going to pull a rabbit out of their hat by page 100 either.
The problem is that a normal person reads that line, chuckles and continues reading. Redditors see that as a high point in comedy and will remember the line an use it in normal conversation.
Hitchhikers guide drowns itself in its own smugness. I liked some parts, especially characters, a lot, but the humor was so wacky it lost it's edge imo. The world was destroyed to make way for a super highway, the answer to the universe is 42 (which every nerd regurgitates), TEA!
It's as deep as star wars.

Nobody claims it's deep.
It's aged, nobody expects aged books to be edgy.
It's a cultural book, not philosophy.
The comparison to Star Wars is appropriate at least. It's why people still talk about it.
