and the best part is it can be done entirely with free software, and the commies can't do anything because the greatness of the service is due to the wealth of its provider

the end point of communist ideas is always more centralized control for the upper class. if you just let small developers sell binaries and didn't try to steal them, we wouldn't have this. instead, you get free software being used to run the backends to rent-a-software.

You, because if everything in the world was GPL licensed you simply wouldn't be in any legal position where you could receive the source to the main program instead, just a client that doesn't do anything, or a website. The rich will always get theirs. The GPL just limits that to the ultra rich who can afford to run good SAAS operations.

In fact, the spread of the GPL, free software, and piracy is encouraging the ultra rich to do this and do it in a way that dominates the market, because
      >they can use GPL code and never release the source because the binary never leaves their computers
      >you can't steal their binaries

Not him but why not just release a GPLv4 forbidding people from even providing access to *usage* of the software without distributing the source code to those people

Real capitalism has already been tried. This is what it always becomes. Capitalism is a suicide cult, not in the sense that its followers commit mass suicide, but in the sense that it itself commits suicide, every single time.

Capitalists always co-opt socialist ideas to cling on to power past the natural 200 year limit for a human civilization. We're essentially still living in the british empire.

Public officials controlling the market didn't start making capitalism even worse until close to the turn of the century.
At first the regulations actually made capitalism slightly *less* awful. But they never lasted; capitalism always found ways around them.
The part where regulations started actively *worsening* capitalism was when capitalist lobbyists successfully bribed the government and gained government authority. Those capitalists then chose to kill their own ideology faster to fatten their own pockets. Killing capitalism in the name of capitalism.
Regulations or no, capitalism always, invariably, finds a way to kill itself in its own name, giving rise to oligarchal socialism where a few bigwigs hog almost everything and everyone else gets all the table scraps basically for free.

Sneethe, cope, snope, rope, and dial eight, libtard.
Capitalism is based BECAUSE it degenerates into "muh oligarchal socialism."
You just don't understand that in this world there are the elect and the reprobate. When socialism starts as socialism you get the reprobate ruling over the elect. Starting with capitalism instead just sets it the right way around.

the socialists are right in that socialism is inevitable
what they are wrong about is what socialism really is
"the workers" and "the people" are fluff terms that in practice mean "the government"
"owning nothing" is socialism, because "the workers" (the government) owns the means of production

      Anonymous

to add on this, "the government" itself is a fluff term that really means "whichever organization has power"
the feudal system never truly ended, it only changed clothes
