Not really, any argument I’ve heard collapses when you really think about it.

The Julius Caesar and Othello plays are pretty good, even by contemporary standards.

All skepticism toward the authority of Shakespeare are undeniably classist. It's always based in the belief that the son of a cobbler couldn't achieve greatness.

It ultimately doesn't matter. The mythos surrounding the Bard and his work is way more important to culture than whoever else might have written the work. That being said, I haven't seen a proper argument for him not being the author that doesn't just boild down to BUT HOW HE WRITE SO GOOD IF HE POOR?! there's nothing substantial to actually suggest that he wasn't the real author, it's all arguments that are made to justify that claim, without anything actually leading to the claim. Also, Shakespeare isn't as amazing as people say (not to imply that his shit isn't good, he's just overall slightly above mediocre, with the occasional drift into truly great shit)

Marlowe is the best bet, but, with that said, I doubt anyone but a random guy called Shakespeare was the author of the works. Why? the sonnets are consistent with the plays, while, also being very different in themes and word play, so the effort of someone faking an identity to write risqué plays would also fake an identity to write masterful yet safe sonnets. A similar and more interesting question is whether Bernal Diaz del Castillo, a simple foot soldier and farmer really wrote "The True History of the Conquest of New Spain" or Cortés wrote it himself as propaganda and faked an identity.

marlowe is okay but has nothing on BIGWILLIE's grasp of all walks of life.

Marlowe was a sad, talented college kid. BIGWILLIE had the grasp of all walks of life.

Shakespeare ripped off Christopher Marlow and had him killed.
