If a rightful owner still exists yes, otherwise leave it into the hands of proper care.

      >take artifact from looted temple
      >put it in museum where it is safe from theft
      >give artifact back to whatever shithole country it was taken from
      >it is immediately stolen or destroyed

The destruction some artifacts went through because some moronic nobleman from the 19th century thought himself an adventurer should be considered criminal. Why the frick have temple walls and ornaments from ancient cities been broken down and moved thousands of km away? If these rich frickers loved history that much, they should've invested in preservation of the archaeologic sites

The locals were the ones who tore off, destroyed, broke, and otherwise neglected the priceless antiquities. If anything, it was those 19th century men of wealth who saved the artefacts. It was they who reconnected them with their past.
The thirdies didn't care and had no clue about their history. Whites are the only reason many of these artefacts are still around.

    On one condition
If you're black, asian, or whatever and you live in a Western country, you get to take one item manufactured by people from your ethnicity as long as you relinquish any citizenship, official immigration permit, and/or refugee or asylum status and move back to the country of origin along with the artifact.

I'm 50/50 because displaying them is cool and educational, but also they don't really own them technically and artefacts were often just stolen by random morons in 1700 or 1800 or whatever
I understand it more for things like corpses/skeletons that were dug up, but this is also true

Watch the John Oliver video, he clearly explains it. Muesuems need to give those artifacts back to Africa. Now.

how do you even find and define which ones are stolen?
Of some king sold some artifact he didn't give a shit about to some Bongers for 10 muskets and a horse but know whatever government claims to represent the constitution of the same political or cultural entity wants it back who is right?
What about an artifact that was dug up during an excavation approved by whoever controlled the land at the time?

People of African descent are themselves a cultural heritage stolen from Africa that needs to be returned.

Only if the original owners are not a shithole
Otherwise it might get looted by terrorists or the AC catches fire and you lose everything
If any country has stuff from here i think they can keep it

The Romans. They built it in Egypt when they controlled it, then moved it to Rome later

No, most of them are returned to the third world countries they are originally from they will be destroyed or stolen, leaving them in the hands of civilised countries ensures they are protected and preserved for the benefit of all mankind, including the savages they orginally 'belonged' to

Buying things off the locals counts as stealing now? If I buy some shitty handmade bracelet from some peasant in a Spanish holiday resort will my decendents have to return it to Spain in 100 years?
