Being a virtuous, Christian materialist doesn't preclude one from also being a Christian. There is no stark dichotomy here. Both are true. There is a heaven and an earth. I'm not sure if Zizek has accepted Christ but he has always been fundamentally Christian in his ethical and moral outlook. Most good-faith Communists are even if they don't know it. His interest in Zen Buddhism and neoliberalism is incredibly critical of them from that ethical standpoint. No one who understands Zen or neoliberalism as thoroughly as Zizek could fully conscience their theoretical underpinnings if they had any sort of Christian bent. And he doesn't!
