Stop doing these 10 things your vagina HATE

Your vagina is sending out an S-O-S.

If you interfere with the normal operation of your vajay you may face irritation or infection — or worse — and chances are you’re already doing at least one of these things. Your vagina is sending out an S-O-S. Listen!

So read on to find out about the common mistakes we as woman make and how to better take care of your hoo hoo.

Washing her too well and too often

The vulva naturally secretes thick oils that defend its delicate skin from the secretions and friction it’s exposed to on a daily basis.  If you scrub off those oils with harsh cleansers (think body washes, with fragrance, or surfactants) your vulva will be more prone to irritation and left unprotected.  Is better just to clean the vulva with warm water using your hands and nothing else. Also with using washes you can make it even worse, you’ll remove the good bacteria that help preserve a healthy pH and make room for odor- and infection-causing bacteria to move in.

Keeping her locked in a dark closet and neglecting to sunbathe her

Sunbathing your privates is calling perineum sunning and originates with ancient Taoism in the Far East. Letting the sun have a look at your hoo hoo at least a dozen times a year is absolutely essential self-care that is nevertheless still neglected by 9 out of 10 Western women. In regions more in tune with ancient wisdom it is far from uncommon to see women lined up with their bottom towards the sun on a good day.

Regular sunning of the vagina raises blood flow back to a biologically natural level, allowing you to feel healthy libido not felt since our primordial ancestors. It also heals the toxic and harmful imbalance that is created by keeping such a vital and complex organ artificially in the dark. Other benefits include:

  • It brings in prana or solar energy from the sun into the organs within the body which strengthens them.
  • Prevents leakage of chi or life force energy from the body. This in turn sustains health and longevity of the physical body.
  • Increases creativity and creative output.
  • 30 seconds of sunlight on the perineum is equivalent to being in the sun all day with your clothes on!
  • Regulates the circadian rhythm and promotes deeper sleep.
  • Grounds and connects you to the Earth.
  • Increases your personal magnetism and amplifies the auric field.
  • Better focus & mental stimulation.
  • Regulates hormone function in the sex organs.

Raising a child in a dark closet is a crime and so too for the vagina as far as we are concerned.

Stuffing her full of feminine hygiene products

A normal healthy vagina secrets small amounts of discharge to keep itself clean, similar to saliva which helps in cleansing your mouth. It is naturally acidic and contains rich quantities of helpful microbes that helps fending off infections and maintain normal pH level.

Think twice before using products claiming that they would clean, groom, or deodorize your special area. All the ingredients they have — fragrances, chemicals, preservatives, dyes — are not really necessary and they can destroy good bacteria or cause allergic reactions. The skin on the vulva is extremely sensitive, because of its thinness compared to the skin on other parts of the body. So again, only thing you need is water.

Exposing her to laundry detergents that are too strong

Choosing a detergent that doesn’t contain perfumes and dyes is important, because they can irritate the delicate vulvar skin. Also better skip on fabric softeners. Just look for detergents with labels “Free and Clear” or organic.

Not letting her breathe

Breathe free, my darling.

On all underwear there is a cotton strip right where the fabric comes in touch with your vagina. The reason behind it iss because cotton works the best when it comes to comparing materials that are letting the skin to breath and absorb moisture in the same time.

Whenever you have a chance, just go commando. Remove the underwear so you can let the skin breath for a while. Except when going to the gym, wearing undies while working out is a must if you don’t want close contact with the germs living around the gym equipment.

Using wax, depilatories or razor for hair removal

Storing your razor in the shower is a very common thing that most of us do. But that moist environment is where bacteria are multiplying. That’s a recipe for infection the next time you nick yourself. But if you use a natural organic shaving lotion which contains none of the irritating chemicals and fragrances found in traditional foams and try use a brand new blade each time you shave (best bet are disposables).

Also using other hair removal methods can cause you troubles too.  Waxing, if done incorrectly, can also be risky because it’s possible to burn the skin, the harsh hair-dissolving chemicals in depilatories are very irritating to the sensitive vulvar skin.  And the best way to go about it is either laser hair removal or trimming hair with small scissors.

Not using Vaseline on her

If the skin is irritated you need to moisturize it. Just like other spots on your body, your vulva can get dry, even if you haven’t gone through menopause yet. But don’t use a regular body lotion, usually contains alcohol that can dry your skin and irritation-causing fragrances. Try a tiny dot of basic petroleum jelly, like Vaseline, which is free of fragrance, alcohol, and preservatives.

Forgetting to work out

Practicing the Kegel exercises is crucial for strengthening your pelvic floor muscles, which are the key for producing stronger, mind-blowing orgasms—not to mention bladder control.

Not taking her to her annual exam / keeping her a secret

New studies have advised against it if you’re symptom-free and not pregnant, but visiting the gynecologist is not only about poking around your lady parts. Having your annual exam is important for taking needed precautions for your health. You can use the appointment to talk about other concerns and issues related to sex and your vagina. It is ALWAYS good to talk about your vagina. Who is the closest person to you right now? Grab him or her by the collar and start talking about your vagina right now.
