Windows XP graphically looks better than 10, everything looks more detailed meanwhile Win10 looks like it was done in paint.

It certainly looked more inviting
It's a popular opinion, anon
Not him but it's not a popular opinion, this is just IQfy is all
Oh and you speak for the entire world do you anon?
most downloaded windows theme on linux
most well regarded OS of all time
ran the corporate world well into windows 8/10s lifespan
yeah, pretty much a popular thoguht that XP was computer heaven and only the contrarian homosexuals of 4chins would deny that.
>muh fischer price ui
everybody loved it for color after the grey 9x years stfu.
>illiterate and stupid
>got every single thing wrong
Every time.
I'd rather have the 9x theme than XP due to screen real-estate, tbh.
BASED.
Windows XP looks better than Windows 7 or Vista.
Aero was great at first, but became boring real quick.
Classic > Aero > Luna > Metro > whatever the frick is in 11
>Unpopular opinion
>States popular opinion
You haven't got the fricking balls to state an actual unpopular opinion. You need to go back.
>Fisher-Price plastic theme
This looks good.
Driver support is practically non existent compared to 7 and up, sadly.
+QoL things I'd rather have
Shame too I like XP. Its less resource intensive
KDE can look like that.
Get a better hobby than jerking off to meme kernels.
You have to actually put in some level of effort in order to post bait.
ITT: baby ducks who would say a cowpat is attractive, since it was the first thing they saw when they got out of the egg.
nothing beats windows classic
I'm just nostalgic for XP.
Imagine having XP as your first OS lmao
I never claimed it was my first OS though. That would be DOS or AmigaOS.
I still fondly remember the release of XP and it's still nostalgic.
what theme
are you serious? royale noir
cool vm
>C2D
try harder
Nothing wrong with that.
Wow this brings me back, that wallpaper too.
They outsourced a couple of design companies to create that UI, whereas the 8 look was created in-house. One of the goals of XP was to get rid of the drab grey design of Win 95/98/ME so they actually put an effort in with XP.
I think XP was the most visually coherent release. Even if you hated the colorful visual styles, you could have switched back to the classic style which worked perfectly and everything still looked very coherent. Modern Windows is just broken.
>most visually coherent release
Nah, that goes to Windows 2000. With XP you started seeing this odd mix of new, colorful themes and 8-bit icons and square, 3D controls.
Good point
There were an absurd amount of custom themes available as well. Custom themes are basically dead now too, not just classic.
I feel like you can apply that to everything today now. No one customizes anything anymore, and there's not many options to customize the shit you want. Look at vidya now and vidya then, people used to mod shit all the time, now there's very little options. It's made me disinterested in any new video game because of it.
and a linux type machine looks better than linux operating system on screen
Royale noir and silver luna were my favourites
It's somewhat popular yet shit opinion
Fisher price OS is one of the worst windows UI ever conceived
Classic on w7 >> 2k > 98 > w7 > w11 > w10 > vista > XP > w8 no start > all pre w95
>w7 > w11 > w10 > vista
Tell me you never used Vista without telling me you never used Vista.
>Classic on w7
buggy an slow piece of shit
Also you forgot a few windows versions
XP always looked like shit. Get some taste.
In a roundabout way, this.
The XP UI was purely a knee-jerk response to Mac OS X - and next to it, a pretty fricking poor one. It's why they had to contract it out to Stardock - it was way too late in the dev cycle to do it themselves, and it took another five years (Windows Vista) to do it remotely properly.
They really should've stuck with Watercolor from the early Whistler betas. It gave off more of a softer, but still professional looking OS rather than that of a toddler tub toy.
It probably looked a bit boring to them
The leaked XP sources also have a theme with elements taken directly from Aqua, btw
IIRC Raymond Chen mentioned something on his blog about how Watercolor was never intended to be in the final release of XP at all, it was just there to test the new skinning engine. A "decoy" skin, if you will.
Early Mac OS X never looked good until Leopard.
Early OS X looked good until they introduced the moronic brushed metal look. I agree Leopard is the best.
Yeah, Panther and Tiger had a busy, directionless UI style. It's almost as if Jobs couldn't decide on pinstripes, high-gloss, or the brushed metal skin that debuted with Quicktime 4, so they said frick it and put all three in just to appeal to his autism.
I prefer the look of vista/7, but xp is a good second choice. Just very comfy
daily old good new bad cope thread
Where did the SOVL go? Even W7 had SOVL.
What are those devices underneath the controller?
Top is a Audigy 2 ZS external interface, it's I/O and controls that connects to the sound card. Bottom is a Roland Sound Canvas SC-88, a MIDI module, it's a box that you can hook up via MIDI or RS-232 and plays MIDI music, a relic from a bygone era when computers and computer games used MIDI as a standard format for music.
I talked about it in this thread too where someone else asked:
I hope good ones.
Most definitely. It brings me back to childhood, I miss a whole lot from then and would probably do almost anything to get the days back, but I do try to at least look forward to tomorrow, it can be hard sometimes though.
my soprano case looks like shit nowadays. maybe cause I've moved 10 times since I first got it in early 2009
It's a nice case for the time, one of my favorites, shame it doesn't support watercooling, really have to crank the fans to not cook the hardware, which is stretching the thermal budget of that case a little.
Stay strong, anon, do something nostalgic you enjoy sometimes.
idk, I always liked Win9x better compared to XP, I think the most prettiest was Windows Vista, shame it was a terrible OS though
