Thanks bro, i just started reading as a new hobby but i couldn't find a decent software to read e-books. I had a bad experience with Linux, just mentioning that name causes my some sort of PTSD response. Holy shit i hate that OS
You probably want to check out calibre as well. It's mostly used for converting ebooks to different formats and pushing them to ereaders, but I think it has a built-in reader too. It's quite utilitarian software however, so it probably isn't too pretty.

I tried Mint and couldn't some games and programs properly, there is not much reason to use Linux over windows (LTSC).

Zotero is nice for PDFs. On linux I enjoyed Foliate for epubs, but I haven't found any actually nice epub readers for Windows. Okular's Windows build might be alright, I haven't tried that one yet. On Android Lithiun is great for epubs.
Sumatra, Calibre, Default Firefox viewer. There was also an addon or something standalone, like a standalone fork of the Firefox pdf viewer. I don't know what its name was.
