no. i want to read on my laptop whenever i want ; for free.

Zotero is nice for PDFs. On linux I enjoyed Foliate for epubs, but I haven't found any actually nice epub readers for Windows. Okular's Windows build might be alright, I haven't tried that one yet. On Android Lithiun is great for epubs.

Thanks bro, i just started reading as a new hobby but i couldn't find a decent software to read e-books. I had a bad experience with Linux, just mentioning that name causes my some sort of PTSD response. Holy shit i hate that OS

You probably want to check out calibre as well. It's mostly used for converting ebooks to different formats and pushing them to ereaders, but I think it has a built-in reader too. It's quite utilitarian software however, so it probably isn't too pretty.

I tried Mint and couldn't some games and programs properly, there is not much reason to use Linux over windows (LTSC).

Sumatra, Calibre, Default Firefox viewer. There was also an addon or something standalone, like a standalone fork of the Firefox pdf viewer. I don't know what its name was.
