DuckDuckGo for more general searches as it's at least better than normie-tier Google. I also use from time to time SearX instances and back to DDG if I can't find what I'm looking for with SearX.
It is in being more "trusted" if you will, as DDG has no way to prove that's actually protecting your privacy, etc. Plus there's a lot of political talk about the site being owned by a israelite or whatever, besides the point. Then more recently about some hiring nonsense with diversity. Overall from the first point I made, it's all /misc/ driven stuff.
DuckDuckGo. I want to use searx, but no instances seem to index google searches by default so I don't get very good results with it. And setting google indexing up with one won't work for me because that saves a temporary cookie and I only use incognito.
I recently switched to Brave Search and it's quite good. Basically, you get the same privacy as DDG or Startpage, but it uses its own independent index (DDG = Bing, Startpage = Google).

DuckDuckGo because of the !Bangs, the results are actually pretty mediocre for other than simple searches, but the !Bangs alone make me stay on it.
I use DuckDuckGo, but I use the !bing Bang, so when I Bang on DuckDuckGo, I am actually using my Bang to Bing, or rather, !bing to Bing.
I see that poetry seminar really worked for you gay

Is search better than ddg? If so, why?
