His first episode of the pacific war agianst japan and the last one of "king of kings".

Yeah, he is a great narrator. His modern cultural references are kind of cringe but I think he does it to be aproachable to modern mainstream audiences, wich has worked for him so I don't mind.

its totally gay. Listen guys, understanding history is important but philosophy is truly the only thing to really dive into as a scholar. Everything else is vapid. Yes its good to know about the bronze age and how that time might be relvant in todays political climate, but come the frick on, why do you care so much about this shit? Its worthless except to maybe express how much you know about the past and how it relates to our modern time. Its coffee talk, plain and simple.

Go explore life, understand our purpose as men, and enjoy it. Branch out into all types of philosophy and you will start seeing some overlapping themes. Achieving individuation should be every mans goal after turning 25. Drop the onions talk, drop all the what if is and "investigating the true history". It's a worthless endeavor and offers you nothing outside of brain popcorn.

    For the uninitiated
    Start with;
    Alan Watts
    Diogenes
    Socrates
    Nietzsche
Dostoevsky (although not regarded as the rest)
    Arthur Schopenhauer
and finally, the father himself, Carl Jung

Carl Jung is the final step to individuation, and through his structured view of the psyche, you will find yourself in such peace, that the matters of life will be fleeting, and all that matters is what you make of it.

    Pic very related.

Its important to start with digestible material. Though Socrates may be controversial like the rest, is thoughts on democracy is a compelling argument to hear.

if you still do philosophy in CE you've been filtered, have no will, and will never accomplish anything

its about the individual, and what your stating is totally untrue. It was the philosophical publications of alexander solzhenitsyn that brought a PEACEFUL collapse of the Czech Soviet state. You just dont know what you're talking about

          Anonymous

i had hope earlier you may see your errors, but you have not understood, and you never will.

fruitlessly, let me try again. if the words you are reading have been written in the last two thousand years, you have been filtered, plain and simple. furthermore, if you believe you can find the truth through reading at all you are a pseud, and hopefully someday you will understand experiencing the truth for yourself is the only way to it.

Just elaborate then bro. We live in a highly complicated time in human history. We dont follow the natural flow of nature (clocks and time) and we dedicate too much of our mind to unimportant and unimpactful things. This shit adds up and culminates into mental illness and silently destroys you. My intention is to bring people, especially on IQfy, to peace with their own mind. I suggest Carl Jung at the end, who is not a philosopher, but a psychologist, because his teachings set you forth on the path of individuation. The entire process is beautiful and you come out the end as an immovable juggernaut.

endlessly in circles you go. when will you break free? you ask for an elaboration when i've clearly said there are no words that will ever bring you closer to the truth. you have to experience it. do you understand? stop writing. stop reading. stop _thinking_ and experience the truth for yourself.

we all need philosophy, history, psychology, whatever - until we learn the truth. the thing is, you've known the truth for years now, anyone who has done a modicum of reading knows it. and it is this:

philosophy, history, psychology, whatever - all you gain is _clarity_

clarity that tells you, every single time, you have wasted your time.

congratulations, now you can either go back to larping you're better than others for knowing that, playing "savior" until you die having lived a miserable life.

or you can just go and _live_ whats rest of your short life.

            do you understand?

            Anonymous

Yeah I know what your saying, and I do regret formatting my post like that but it’s typical IQfy structure. Didn’t mean to come off like a prophet or something. I’m just excited to discuss that stuff and it’s hard to find people looking to talk about it, so my aim was to bring some anons looking for a new lens something unique. I guess il just return to my solitude and die alone.

Yeah I want to like it more than I do, and I've tried a few times in the past to get more into it, but I get bored to tears by it. It all kinda just boils down to this image, for me. It makes me wonder if I'm just moronic, but if I'm moronic then so be it.

Your animal instincts have been refined by 200,000+ years of evolutionary pressure, making you the apex predator of this planet. What you see, what you smell, what you hear, and your gut reaction to it, provide all the answers you need. Philosophy has always been the realm of proto-incels, asking stupid questions that take up valuable space in your mind, like "do things exist?" and "is everything relative?" History provides much more valuable lessons than this nerdoid garbage.

Last part was very disappointing. He ended it after the bomb was dropped. Dan, you moron, the post-war occupation of Japan is extremely underrated. It's not talked about compared to the bomb and some of the infamous battles. Go into detail about how the American reordered Japanese society, MacArthur as Shogun, how he used the Emperor, etc.

It’s not only that the title. Is the actual insight. Also it’s always 2 or 3 experts coming from different angles. The only thing I don’t like is is very anglo oriented. Bit they cover all cultures and all eras.

I can't listen to Dan Carlin due to his naive and childlike beliefs (like "Nazis were evil", "the Holocaust happened", "the Rape of Nanjing is real")
His show should be called Dan Carlin's DEBUNKED HISTORY
