Not hard anon just git gud, alternatively just set windows update to something like google.com and it will just always fail
Another time is a synonym for no
You can only refuse improvements to things you own, maybe try a different os. :^)
That's windows moron filter. If you aren't capable of finding workarounds to disable stuff you want, then you can't be trusted to use the OS
if you're running an enterprise SKU
gpedit.msc -> windows components -> windows update -> no auto restarts for logged users
if not, then consider suicide
>in college >win 7 in full force >people clinging to XP like no tomorrow still mostly older people >updates disabled, optimizer pro variant 9001 installed to speed things up >internet explorer never updated but still the default app so 10 scamware variants of firefox or toolbars installed >most device drivers missing some dependency that was released 4 years ago >run updates after deshitting the PC >never works >can't fix it because how fricked it's become >only option is reformatting and fresh install >NOooooOOOO DON'T DO THAT PICTURE OF MY cat IS THERE!!!
I could understand hating the inconvenience of having to reboot once in a while but compared to the absolute shit turds that become of computers without forced updates it's for the better.
if this was linux google would just show me a code on ubuntu forms or stack exchange and compiling the code in cmd would work. Windows is just fricking stupid

Removed because too many morons completely disable the patching system and then try to sue Microsoft for something they fixed 10 years prior. If less people disabled that shit without understanding what they were doing it wouldn't be this way and people who DO know what they are doing would probably have an easier time.
How is restarting sometime within the next 7-10 days an issue for you anyway?
Outside of BIG NUMBER = BETTER, what's wrong with restarts from an operations perspective. Unless you are dealing with servers, your desktop doesn't matter all that much if you don't know "how to get back to where you were" after a reboot you're a pleb
Hoarding isn't healthy anon, besides most browsers open back up everything after restart on windows 10

I have never understood why people keep tabs open. If I'm doing research, I may have 8-10 open concurrently while I'm gathering information, then I can condense it down to 1-2 while retaining the knowledge of the other tabs, and organize/save hyperlinks to the closed tabs for future reference if needed.

because closing a tab requires a decision. switching away from it postpones that decision.
If you can't figure out how to manage your own windows updates, you don't deserve to complain. And if you think using some 3rd party program to 'block' and 'debloat' counts, you definitely don't deserve to even use a computer.
>if you don't know these super secret unknown moves and tricks nobody knows about, you don't deserve to use a computer
some massive cope right here, why not just use gnu lunix instead?
What's the cope? My machine hasn't rebooted for 42 days and yet it still shows 0 updates. I can go as long as I want before installing whatever patch I want. Almost like.... I actually have an understanding of something! Why would I limit myself to linux when it's better consumed in a vm?
good for you, but i'd rather not have to choose between never updating and worrying that the next update will reset my optimisations and put the bloat back in.

Configuring your Windows installation so that it doesn't run this.
Windows 7 never gave me assertive updates.
Windows 7 did the same shit, it just didn't happen to you because you disabled it.
windows 7 is 15 years old and doesn't support modern hardware
you're like the boomers running pcdos 5 during the xp era cause using mice is for gays
Please just give me windows 7 with modern hardware support then. That's all I ask.

more importantly where's the option to upgrade to a UNIX based OS?
