Frick no, if anything they exaggerate what happened and thought a capital chimpout = China collapsing, thinking that the whole thing was a color revolution.

Furthermore they did react: China got sanctioned & embargoed up the ass. But then this didn't last long because a lot of corps who were beginning to outsorce/market their shit to China noticed the huge piles of $$$ coming there way.

Just military embargoes which would have been enacted anyway given how China was modernizing its military.

best part of chinkaboos commies is that their measure of china's success is the massive economic productivity and growth that only happened after deng's economic liberalization, which xi is trying to destroy because of muh soshulism.

China's industrial base that Amerisharts are currently seething about was built during the Great Leap Forward. The real debate is how much Deng is riding on coattails, and how much opening up contributed to trade.

you make it sound like it was the only and best way China could have industrialized. Just because the great leap forward was how china industrialized doesn't mean that it was the only way to industrialize; there are plenty of countries which industrialized without starving at least 15 million people to death. In fact, i may be so bold as to say that almost every country that industrialized have done so without starving 3% of their population in a man-made famine, in the latter part 20th century too.

It literally was, if you your goal is to actually catch up to other industrialized countries.

Feel free to make excuses for how Britain's industrialization and famines in India are totally unrelated, though. Or America and the Trail of Tears. Or all the massacres that happened in Africa.

what was that about british industrialization and famines? Indian agriculture heavily depended on weather, so when the british diversified indias subsistence farming based economy to produce other crops like opium and other valuable productd, and crops happened to fail, you get famine. While it didnt help that the brits didnt give a frick about famine relief initially, its in no way related at all to british industrialization, especially since british industrialization happened in, you know, great fricking britain, not india. You would make a far better point if the brits made farmers leave and become industrial workers by gunpoint and then famine happened, but even in the case of brits diversifying the indian economy, the farmers CHOSE to make other crops because of financial incentives of exporting produce.
            >america and the trail of tears
completely unrelated to industrialization. americans simply didnt care about injuns
            >all the massacres in africa
how are they related to indistrialization? massacres in africas, similar to the indian trail of tears are plain and simple attempts of ethnic cleansing.

Because the CCP at the time were Dengist liberals that wanted to reform and implement a capitalist economy while the protesters were radical maoists that opposed any change whatsoever and also hated black immigrants. Communism and racism are the two things the USA will not abide.

The one silver lining to worsening US-China relations is that all the pro-China Americans will be tracked, tagged, and generally made to have miserable lives. I cannot think of a group in America more deserving of such treatment than the homegrown CCP shills.

What are you on about? The Tiananmen massacre evoked a massive outcry in the West, much greater than any previous comparable tragedies in East Asia, like Gwangju or Chen Yi's killings, which soured the relations between natives and outsiders on Taiwan for decades, yet received little attention abroad. And that was despite the fact that in the latter two significantly more were slaughtered than at Tiananmen.
