That's not a "diy earbud", it's an IEM that used to be an earbud.

Wait, it's not even that. It's just an IEM.

Yes, in the same way that speakers are headphones that you don't wear on your head.

Wait, these are dead? I'm still using my 13-year-old Sony earbuds, obviously I have not been in the market for a while

I think OP means the hard plastic type earbuds. Which evolved, really devolved, from the hard plastic plus foam cover type earbuds after manufacturers got cheap. But rubber earpieces soon took over, unless you were using the EarPods that came with your phone.

We are talking about the circle shaped headphones. Even the nice ones were terrible. The new cone ones that fit in your ear both feel nicer and sound better

them sounding like shit is whole point. you retain situational awareness when outside because these dont have isolation
but manchild like you with no life or who doesnt go outside, wouldnt understand anyway

        >they were bad...INTENTIONALLY
Cope, you simply can't get good sound with broken seal.

They dont fit in your ear without jamming them in really hard

It's the opposite for me. Maybe they don't sound better but the circular shape was more comfortable.

        Anonymous

Same. Circular is better, cone shapes just kind of fall out of my ears. It's hell if I have to use them and I'm working or doing absolutely anything

I bet most audiophiles cand even play an instrument

If you liked them but they died it absolutely is your problem.

I still use the old earphones model because they don't fall off from my ears. And I've been using them for like 14-15 years.

Not dead, get KBear Stellar, they cost $5
Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to have a perfect seal in earbuds. Also, they come with foam to cover the tips, so that they provide a better seal.
I'm just gonna drop this here, high end room speakers will always be better than headphones, so think abou that for a sec

      >KBear Stellar, they cost $5
Are KBear as good as VE Monk earphones? They are chink hifi earphones for $5. Are these rebranding just?

      >room speakers will always be better than headphones

      that is correct
even though I mostly use headphones when I use my stereo system is easy to tell that headphones do not produce the same tridimentionality as loudspeakers

a tune like this sound incredible on a decent set of speakers (mine are some old generic chink inc. don't even have a brand, but I also have a set of Magnepans III, both have better sounstage than headphones) on headphones sound good but its lacking

        >speakers will always be better than headphones,

No they don’t sound better if you consider open back headphones. With open back headphones the sound is open like coming from speakers just way better. These headphones don’t isolate the sound so people around can hear the music.
Most of the people have just closed back headphones so they don’t know the difference.

What's the frick is the point of using headphones then?

            >What's the frick is the point of using headphones then?
There is a point, one can afford for the same price 10 times better quality with headhones than with very expensive with speakers and amplifier.
            $100 headphone = $1000 speakers an amplifier
            $1000 headphone = $10000 speakers an amplifier
            And so on...

To get as good quality from speakers as from headphones have to sound proof the room with sponges and other sound absorbants.
This might cost way more and have to have a room only for listening music (no windows)
