    >Why do liberals say Jesus and John were gay
Never heard this one, but he did not write the gospel of John nor any of the Epistles attributed to him and John of Patmos who wrote revelations is not the same man as John the apostle.

        >Academic consensus
        >Gets put on Wikipedia
        >therefore it is wrong
You know, Christianity can still be true even if the traditional authorship is missattributed. .

it's not even academic consensus, you dumb homosexual, it's more like "durr we can't prove that John wrote these, so he probably didn't" it's sophistry you take seriously because you're stupid, "academic christianity" is a fraud, no one wants to listen to athiests larping as christians telling what to think when their dumb theories aren't even proven, take your "Q Source" and shove it up your rectum

            >it's not even academic consensus,
Yes it is, its not based on wanting it not to be true like you claim, and you are unable to cope with these facts so you lash out.

There's no evidence John didn't write those epistles or his gospel or revelations. You can't even formulate the argument in this thread in two posts because it's exactly as a I said. You're fricking dumb pal. You have no "facts." You have speculative masturbation from Marxist buttholes trying to excuse the fact universities given them a paycheck for taking up space. There is no "proof" or "facts" here,, just more speculation. You probably think climate change is real as well.

Have you heard of textual analysis? Historical speculation is based on available evidence, not masturbation. We have a text written in Greek, not Aramaic or Hebrew, dated to around eighty years after the events it describes, and that shows signs of multiple writing styles. None of these point to John as the author, nor is there anything in the gospel telling us that he is, its all Church tradition.

Wasn't greek the lingua franca, so it's likely they knew greek?

That is true only for the educated elite. Most in Judea wouldn't speak Greek, much less be able to write it on a native level.

            >a Galilean peasant wrote a book decades later about his experiences, after his natural lifespan, in highly educated Greek
Seems less likely than that someone put his name on a book for the prestige tbh

History is based on an assumed natural epistemology. That doesn't mean miracles chant happen, just that history cannot account for them. If you want to believe God allowed man to write a book he could not have otherwise written, feel free, but that is outside history and can only be based on faith

Liberals are extremely desperate to find anything in the bible that supports their gay agenda even when they’re grasping at straws. They need everything and everyone to always agree with them so they can’t easily let it go and simply admit that the bible is homophobic
